My Grandfather served aboard he sister-ship USS California BB-44 and I am absolutely in love with your interpretation of the Tennessee class of US battleships. Would love to see this model in real life!

You Sir, Are a True Artist after my own heart. Given the time: I can build like you do. My scratch built ships to date, have been built as Static Display models. I will use those talents to build the next ones to operate on water . Thank you for your inspiration. Beautiful ships!!!

Hello, the figures in the video are 'O' scale from model trains. You can get a 100 quite cheap, then just paint them up as sailors and away you go. I have heard of people using 3d printed 1/48 figures too that you can buy commercially.

The deployment and recovery of the ship's cutter mirrored the frustration of a real recovery when trying to catch the cable. Good stuff.

That water looks suspiciously oiled down. Nothing causes much of a natural ripple. Even the launch.

You are 100%correct. Although the ship is scale, the water isn't. Thus on windy days it would be like cyclonic weather, the other issue is the sailors caps apparently should a bluey colour, not white. Appreciate your interest

Hi Mate, you are absolutely right re the hats. I discovered this a while ago, just havent got around to re painting their hats. If you have any reference material please let me know. Is a flag bag the locker where the signal flags are stored? Being an Army vet, some naval aspects escape me lol.

Mate, If the Collier that attended the USS Tennessee, why is it flying the Domestic flag of Australia? If the Collier was supposed to be a Royal Australian Naval Vessel in WW2, she would have been flying the White Ensign, which was also the Flag of the Royal Navy. That ensign consisted of a Red Cross of St. George, on a white background, with a Union Jack in the upper left hand quadrant. We changed our Naval Ensign If Collier were just ss Collier or Mv Collier, she would have been flying the Merchant Navy Flag, which would have consisted of a Blue flag, with the Union Jack in the upper left hand quadrant and some British/Australian Merchant vessels had a Red Flag with the Union Jack in the upper right quadrant. BTW; love your model of the USS Tennessee. Well done!
