Grew up literally always in the mall heavy when the mall use to actually pop 2000s-2011 this mall use to be packed..... my dad use to take me here when I was little alot once I became a teenager 2010-2012 was steady in the mall with my friends walking the mall a million times with them just with $20 lol that would get me food court food and enough to see a movie now $20 don't get you nothing but a Keychain.....😂 recently went to mall and it was dead just like the video all the malls are at this point

My Grandmother lived in Portsmouth and it's where all of my Dad's family lived as well. The Tidewater is home for me and always will be although I was born in Baltimore. I now live in Central Virginia but miss so much the Tidewater area and the Malls like this one that I used to frequent when I was growing up. I'm not going to lie; I cried while watching this because it brought back so many great memories of my beloved family and the wonderful times we used to have especially going to the Malls in Tidewater during Christmas. This era is gone now but was truly the best ever in my life! 😥Just so heartbreaking needless to say. Unfortunately, nothing ever stays the same, does it? Just happy to know that other Malls in the area are still open and pray it stays that way for quite some time. Thank you Rondevu World for taking the time to film this and the other Malls in the Tidewater area. I appreciate it very much!

I’m very attached to this mall, it’s where I had my first kiss, it’s where I had my first job (Chick Fil a) and it’s where I used to go and walk around when I needed to clear my head. I’m sad to see it go. Thank you for posting this to let me go down memory lane.

People prefer the Coconut Creek promenade or Sawgrass Mills.

With all that space, they could replace the mall with a town center. Chesapeake is behind compared to other cities.

Some Dead Malls of USA Are Like Old Wild West Ghost Towns.

This is my local mall (it's NOT dead, in fact NOT showing signs of retail collapse) and security never stopped me here whatsoever. This mall has four elevators (three modernized) and continues to evolve (note the fresh paint and newly upgraded play area) as a gathering place for families (its busier on weekends compared to weekdays) and has always adapted to the ever changing retail environment (an entertainment center is likely to open here). Other malls like Boynton Beach and Galleria Fort Lauderdale have MORE vacancy than this.

This is just so sad.l lived in Norfolk, VA for 22yrs.Raised my daughters there.Military Mall was our go to Mall since we lived a few blocks away.l can't believe its gone.

I live on the otherside of Fort Lauderdale in Dania Beach so I've only been to this Mall a few times.Before the Pandemic Malls were busy.Unfortunately because of it people got use to buying online. One thing I've never done.My daughter n l love going to Malls n shopping in person.
