If we consider a point D on the line segment AB (not mid of the line segment ) then a point P eqidistant from the end points of the line segment is joined with D that is PD is not the pëpendecular bisector of AB .

The two triangles are SIMILAR. NOT CONGRUENT If they were congruent you would have a equality of line segments and not equality of product of line segments !

on the contrary , say we bisect angle A till D, and we make a straight line from B to C which would make so that AD is perpendicular to BC, and therefore angle, ADB = ADC and as 1 and 2 are already equal by angle sum property the other two are equal and both the triangles are congruent by AAA criteria

THIS IS WRONG. How could you substitute DF with AY? There is no information saying that the ratios are the same. 😅

In reason 5, should the reason be the theorem, if ANY two lines are cut by a transversal such that the alternate interior angles are congruent, THEN the lines are parallel? It looks like you are saying since the lines are parallel then the angles are congruent. Sorry for the clarification, you did a great job laying out the proof in a clear and straightforward way.

My teacher has been teacher for well over 20 years and has been very vague in explaining anything related to proving these geometric theorems. She still gives us a plethora of homework including proof of objectives she did not teach. Long story short, thank you. 🙏🏻
@greggilhooly70365 жыл бұрын
To prove this properly, take the common side of the two right angle triangles, plus the two radii (by definition equal), and then use the Pythagorean theorem to show that the two distances to that single point must be equal.
