Saw this live last night in Hagerstown MD. The level of musicianship on that stage was beyond anything I've seen in a long, long time. Daniel's comments in this video about the kind of musician and the focus Jerry brings to his playing reminded me of my father's words: "Music first". Dad was a choral director for 30+ years and I can recall him stopping us on on more than one occasion, first with a stern look at us, then an apology to our audience before beginning the piece again. Also, a thanks to Daniel for mentioning Lefty Kreh last night, Come back and fish with us next time.

To hear his music without his voice is like shaving your dogs beautiful soft curly coat. It just ain't the same. George's plaintiff voice and human touch are replaced with the clanking of a resonator guitar. Sorry, but all the violins in the world won't make this truly "while my guitar gently weeps" but just a cover song with some country gravy on it. Jerry is a genius and his band are very beautiful music makers, but this was a very personal song and this is just string virtuosity. George can't be replicated with an instrumental. Next!

Love this! I also love "In Watermelon Sugar," the novel by Richard Brautigan that gave birth to the characters. AND it looks like Neko is playing a tenor guitar in this video, the guitar my late beloved brother played. LOVE IT ALL!

The fact is in mentioning ERIC CLAPTON in Jerry's story ..... George Harrison WROTE the song - then in studio recording it He Had Friend Eric Clapton add his Lead to the Instrumental track .... just for the record ! GBjj

He has a whammy bar on his dobro? But what a hellacious arrangement!
@philiptamarkin72803 ай бұрын
No, that's a Hipshot that gives him the ability to switch between preset tunings.
@jaredsimpson3792 ай бұрын
He can go from open d to g with a single movement allowing a broader tonal ability. Not a whammybar

The guitarist in my band insists on playing Bm instead of B7 in the middle section. For me, the minor chord sounds wrong particularly when the Em is played next! Any thoughts?
