they would save on building infrastructure costs i guess but you still cant compete with economies of scale on the other hand, not having to sit next to the average bususer would make people pick it even if its more expensive

Well you are right but who want to deal with NYC transit and buses nowadays.....it's so bad you can't even sleep without worrying about her R-kellyed or diddyed......those who know, knows the City. Not to mention the smell on MYA is no laughing matter.

Leading with a loss. Then once it’s perfected and you have enough customers, they won’t want to go back on the nasty bus or subway.

Not to mention, you can use the metro card to go a lot farther, which can make it almost triple the cost

Is it built on a crappy ICE frame like Polestar 2 with huge drive shaft tunnel causing excessively wide console and less room in rear? I rented a P2 and felt very cramped in driver’s seat.

A very thick, sturdy-looking Pinus that should be stiff enough to minimize flex.

In Europe, especially in Scandinavia and Germany, Alpitronic is THE go to manufacturer for HPCs. Users even turn away when there is some other stuff installed like ABB, Tritium and others. That's because they ALWAYS work, are easy to use, have good UI, nice cable management and have a quality appeal. Operators sometimes wait for over 6 months to get some, preferring to wait instead of getting other stuff which may even be available without waiting time. There are rumors that the recipe for success solid hardware, nice and easy to maintain, PLUS "predictive maintenance" sensors and software. The devices detect upcoming defects and report them to the service contractor (which you as a operator can directly source out or back to Alpitronic) who then maintain and change parts before they fail, resulting in impressive uptime. One could say that Alpitronic simply did the right thing, while most others simply failed. It's not magical modern hardware, just quality components, good software and good service.
