Tesla is using Chinese to manufacture their cars and probably using Chinese engineers to design it. Japanese are amazed how far the Chinese evolve despite of the US technology restrictions. If the US will only be fair and will not single out or bully China. China will surpassed them in terms of technology.

Hey mate, I love the BYD content. I just put in an order for a Shark last month. Any word on whether the OEM dashcam can be installed on them? My thinking is that the Shark has an SD card reader according to the Shark user manual, so there's no need for that if it doesn't have the capability to have that dashcam. Anyway, it would be good to know!

@@mrossco Don't know is yet. I've been in a shark and it didn't have the dash cam Port. But people have pointed out in some of the promo videos that it did have the dash cam port. So don't know what we're going to get in the end. And even if it does have the dash cam Port, there's no guarantee that it's going to have the blue data cable that connects to it. A lot of recent BYDs have been coming out without the blue data cable, if it doesn't have it, it's going to be a pain to fit.

Cant wait for the Sealion 7. A Seal on stilts. Have a Seal Performance and traded a 21 330i in on it, couldn't beat the novated leasing benefits. Its not only well built, reliable, quiet, smooth, extremely roomy but fast. 0-100kmh with two passengers and a half full boot is a constant 3.8 seconds. Over and over. Cbarges fast at super fast chargers and easy to charge at home (1.2kw at home and free fast charging at work 7kw). If the Sealion 7 has the same drivetrain with 390kw, im sold. I said and always avoided Chinese made products but after a test drive in the Seal in April, we ordered it right away. Legacy automakers should be afraid, very afraid. 17k kms later and still loving it. Three things the 330i had that are missing on the Seal; a much better autonomous driving system, the roundel badge and driving dynamics. Everything else, it blows the BMW out of the water. It is faster than the i4 M50 for half the cost. That's value.

This 8-in-1 concept I saw already in 2019 when I sneaked into BYD sales meeting in a nearby hotel. It was after 5PM so they were basically hanging around and checking out the large photos and talking about their plans. I saw they had talked about how many factories they were going to build and how to expand the product line upwards to compete with Audi and Mercedes. After that they have hired tens of thousands of engineers so who knows what they are up to. One thing that I noticed was that the manufacturing efficiency was marked #1 (with high quality). What made me giggle was "We will first beat VW in China and within 10 years in the whole world." That is not a laughing matter anymore. VW has more than 200 factories so think about how big BYD needs to be and how small VW has to become.

If your insurance policy doesn't do this it is crap and you should seek a different quality insurer. I totally disagree with your recommendations regarding the 2 options. First option should always be to use your own insurance, this is what you pay insurance premiums for. Less hassle as you just lodge the claim and they do all of the recovery work on your behalf. Most insurers have faultless benefits now that gives you a hire car in not at fault claims, even if you didn't pay extra premium for unlimited cover, check your policy conditions. With the delay in getting parts now I would recommend taking the option, when buying the policy, for unlimited hire car coverage, as it is now common for repairs on almost any car to take weeks or even months to fix. Second option is approaching the at fault drivers insurer, assuming the liability is clear this should also be a relatively seamless process. Just check that they give the same type of lifetime warranty on repairs that your insurer does. I don't know why anybody would engage a lawyer in a straightforward car accident claim. This would just increase the overall costs which ultimately impacts everybody through higher premiums. The same goes for any of the recovery services that offer to manage the claim for you and provide a hire car. They are charging the insurers a much higher daily rate and this will flow through to higher premiums for all.
@BeYonD-EV
@BeYonD-EV 5 күн бұрын
It's a catch 22 situation. Every party in these situations is going to act in their own best interests and that includes the likes of insurers/lawyers. Someone is going to win out in the end and its either going to you and/or one of the other parties. I agree that using your own insurer will likely be the least stressful option, but the issue I have with using my own insurer is that I don't believe they are acting in my interests over their own. This is particularly the case if the other party in the incident happens to be insured/underwritten by the same insurer. If this the case is your own insurer going to want to charge themselves to get a proper fix done? Or will they do the minimum required to achieve a lawful outcome? Having the repairer deal with the other parties insurer and dictating to them what it needed, or using a 3rd Party Recovery gives you some control in having your own interests met to a certain extent.
@pmccrohon
@pmccrohon 5 күн бұрын
@@BeYonD-EV I don't agree with your implications that there are winners and losers in each claim. If you think your insurer is not looking after your interests then I suggest you may be with the wrong insurer. Each repair should be judged on its merits regardless of whether you are claiming directly or as a third party. In fact a claimant going through their own insurance is likely to be treated better if anything, as they have a contract in place with the insurer and possibly loyalty to the brand. In the old days it was common for third party claimants to not be given the benefit of the doubt for questionable damage, once again because there is no loyalty to take into account. This is probably less likely now as any authorised repair should get a lifetime warranty regardless of whether you are the insured or not. In regards to the repairer dealing with the insurer, the process is typically identical for the major insurers. The estimation, assessment and repair process typically follow the same steps. Third party recovery services add no real value anymore, their need goes back to the days when insurers only provided hire cars if you were insured with them and had taken the policy option. Now insurers generally offer not at fault hire cars for both insured and third parties as well as the option for unlimited hire car rental. The need for these services is now redundant and only result in increasing the overall cost of claims which comes back as higher premiums for everybody.

If you bud is visiting authorized body shop then of course there belot of car. But doesnt it need to wait for month? Yes but rare. You need to have prerrty substiantial damage to cause panel replacement. Otherwise the body shop will bang everything back straight, body filler it and repaint the area and call it, just like other cars. Even if you are waiting for Parts, they will let you get the car back while waiting for the part. Unless you get a loaner. And the cost of the loaner is covered by insurance or manufacture. Some rare part does need months to allocate. The ABS unit on my JK wrangler took me 6 month to get. And the Stalantis has very good part network in Canada, but still take 6 months to get it. For the 6 month, I was driving that 2 tons hunk of metal without ABS. It is not a BYD or new manufacture probelm, it is common problem for Parts that dont get replaced often. I just dont see why people make such a fuss on it.
