My Lightfighter 1 is made in usA and the rainfly design works because it stays like 6 inches off of the ground and never touches the mesh so the moisture goes through the mest onto the inside of the rainfly and runs down and drips on the ground. Litghtfighter also has a cold weather kit for winter months, it works. Make sure you get the military version not the civilian one. *Litefighter 1 OCP Camouflage Individual Combat Shelter 1 Man Tent PART #: FS1100-OCP NSN 8340-01-628-8855 *LiteFighter 1 Ground Sheet PART #: FS1106-TAN NSN 8340-01-628-9164 *LiteFighter I Tuff Sack-Ruggedized Tent Stuff Sack Military PART #: TS1107-OCP NSN 8340-01-691-7696 *LiteFighter Cold Weather Kit (for 1 man tent) - Coyote w/ 4 snow/sand anchors PART #: FS1116-TAN NSN TBD

The Recon version of HPG has molle all over it. You missed a big feature in that you can connect the HPG rig to the lifter straps of a pack. That is a huge plus. I will add that as a tactical chest rig, the FTT rig has some drawbacks when compared to purpose built tactical chest rigs. Those drawbacks I would consider to be extremely important ones. I also do not like that the FTT rig has the gun pouch and general purpose pouch all in one zippered pouch. It lessens the room that one would have with a separate GP zippered pouch. It also is just too awkward to draw a gun out of quickly with all of that stuff in the way and the divider does not really fix any of that. Both of these rigs could be better. There are features on the HPG rig I like better and features on the FTT rig I like better. There are also features that neither has that I would like to see, such as pull tabs so you can rip the firearm portion open quickly without having to mess with zippers.
@Skills2survive22 күн бұрын
You can do that with this as well. I will show that in an up coming video.
@lonestarpatriot87622 күн бұрын
@@Skills2surviveI added some things to my comment. I talked some with FTT today about some of the feedback I gave on another video they produced about this rig. They said they are currently in the design process on a new rig that addresses some of these issues. They seem to be good people and I like that they listen to user feedback. Same goes for HPG.

You say not ideal in the summer and I'll add that's nowhere sufficient for true winter use... Maybe winter in Alabama or Georgia but not in the north... 🤷♂️
@Skills2surviveАй бұрын
I agree it’s probably not suited for extreme cold. It will make a great 3ish season tent I think. Like early spring, fall and early winter. But again here in the south it will be fine for the winter for sure. Thanks for watching.

KZbin keeps booting me off. The vestibules are the only thing saving this one . But as you said good for one . I’ll never understand why companies will market good or great equipment and throw fifty cent China Mart stakes in there . Given our humidity you probably have to use it like a bug net and stretch a tarp over in the summer. Good looking little tents set up though. Fairly low profile. Have a good one
@Skills2surviveАй бұрын
Yea I agree. The humidity definitely sucks !!! Thanks for watching John !! 👍👍
@rnrhodes9256Ай бұрын
Yeah I agree. I'd just use the inner tent and stretch out a tarp above it all. Keep the sun and rain/debris off but still allow great airflow. Good rule of thumb for those new to these types of tents. Just because a tent has 20 parts doesn't necessarily mean you have to use all 20. Adaptation is the key. 👍👍👍

I have two Masc holsters. The first is a belt slide type for a g29 along with a double mag pouch. I bought the set about 4 years ago. They are excellent. The second is a paddle holster for a S&W CSX. It ejects The magazine when I insert the pistol. I wrote to Masc three times about it. They will not answer. It's good leather, but if you have a problem it's not Masc's problem. Good luck. I have a red Sea-to-Summit liner. My sleeping quilt is losing its warmth ability, so I bought a liner to see if it would help. It certainly does, it's given my quilt a new ease of life. My wife's friend adapted it for me by cutting off the hood area (I don't need it) and then making a slit from the head hem for a length of 3 feet towards the foot box. So now I have a sleeping quilt and a matching quilt liner, and they both work very well together.
