Nice oven. I was thinking, dont you lose a lot of heat from it being in contact with the ground? Shouldn't there be some type of thermal barrier?

i dont think that's going to be a good pizza oven. you need insulation under the firebrick floor. your build has it going directly to a mass of concrete. for a bread oven that would be great. you want huge thermal mass for bread. but that floor isnt coming up to pizza temp for several hours.
