🌴 Hi Claudia, what a beautiful bird , I’m sure this bird is gone and got adopted, I’m in process of adopting a yellow face Amazon , it’s a female 31 yr old that got surrendered by an elderly couple that were going into a nursing home , I’ll know by this week if I’ll be excepted, I had a umbrella cockatoo that I rescued many years ago , I didn’t know how old he was and he passed away Labor Day of 2023, I’m ready to start a new journey with this little Amazon lady , I hope your bird found a forever home 🫶🏼

I have two untame Cockatiels, one male, one female, my female likes getting close to my face but dislikes my hands. And the male Does not even like me getting close i,ve had them for a month now still not tame and so i was wondering if i should let them out of cage because i feel bad for my female who really wanna fly. But as said they,re not tame and not hand tame. But is that a good idea that i let two untame cockatiels out?

It's important for the veterinarian to be swift and not prolong stress by being too slow, but I don't believe the vet had to be so rough and abrupt with such a tame bird. I'm not sure that one small mark on one feather positively indicates a stress bar, as the vet said. Rather it seems like it would have been more appropriate for the vet to have said, it is potentially a stress bar. Stress bars are usually in a series across multiple feathers. I was not impressed with this veterinarian.

My Zazu was in a similar situation and someone found him and where we live at isn’t a safe area so she took him it looked to see if he belonged to anyone and nothing so 3 weeks later I adopted him yes under a year old only eats millet refuses to eat anything else I’ve had him over a month and still can’t sit near his cage without him freaking out
