i use this laptop and in my opinion its a really great laptop for the games i play. and in my opinion 1k is not cheap. i really dont have any problems with it
@BSingh-on4qr12 күн бұрын
Very interesting. It looks like I can be getting the 4k model for 1k on facebook marketplace; confirming the graphics specs with the seller tomorrow, but I'm debating between it or paying like 2.5x the price for the amd framework laptop. I like that I can also upgrade the ram to 64gb on framework but I just don't know how reliable/unreliable it would be for me as an electrical engineering student

I've had an i7 GF63 for six months. I use it to play low demand indie games (e.g. Valheim) on travel. If you use an active cooling stand, it's more than adequate for that task. It's pleasant enough to interact with. My last laptop was an HP that failed at the hinges after a decade, suffice to say I am being careful not to drop this one, and I never apply asymmetrical loads to the hinges. No issues so far.

So, what would you recommend for non-rich students?
@dylancoulbeck748326 күн бұрын
for the most part it can perform well with older games if thats your intended purpose, such as ps2 emulation, remastering some of the classic games with mods etc but for the price you are paying for this, and how honest your review is, I would prefer to have a desktop at the same or lower price that handles things well and efficiently

The GF63 is known for hinge breaking, the other MSI product probably have been better
@xenbittАй бұрын
I bought mine 2 years ago having limited knowledge about laptops and and it still using it now as I speak. I must say, I do agree and recommend not to buy this laptop. From the beginning, I was made well-aware by others of the concerns that come along with this device: hinge, cooling, etc. That's why I am always careful with opening my laptop; but even then, just a year ago, my camera just stopped working. But after some research and tests, I found out that it had something to do with the hinge because it sometimes works if I try to adjust the hinge. But anyhow, don't buy this laptop. In my case, I already have it that's why I'm just trying my best to take care of it since I'm also using it for college.

About the cooling pad, it looks to me that the fans of the xps, take the cold air from behind and PUSH DOWNWARDS the hot air to exhaust (where the qwertyuiop keyes are). If this is the right dynamic, than, having a coolpad that pushes upwards forcingly the same hot air that the xps fans are trying to get rid off by exhausting downwards... it seems not productive. Actually i bought i cooling pad even before watching this video and it does absolutely nothing to the temperatures of the cpu or gpu. The system keeps having the same temperatures with or without it. I guess because the xps fans do not suck the air from down and exhaust towards the back of the laptop but they suck from the back and exhaust downwards. Do you have any idea about this?

I almost got stuck with this yesterday. Instead, I canceled my Amazon order upon finding out the title was wrong and there was no 4060, and I bit the bullet and bought an HP Envy with a 4060. Sure, it was $300 more, but I can agree it's built like a tank and is more of a sleeper gaming laptop, which I appreciate a lot more than the tired old "red + black = gamer" look.
