Saw Queensryche for first time in 86 opening for Ozzy in Biloxi. Seen them at least a dozen times over the years and, it’s nice to hear the older stuff played live, which is only possible due to Todd being in the band now. Tate refused or couldn’t perform these songs leading up to his dismissal!

To me they are the flag ship of northwestern metal 🤘 and when that EP was released, down here in San Antonio in the early 80s was fresh metal and picked real fast as a city favorite band and still even with the different band members it’s still brings back the early days and good enough to see. I see them every time they come to SA and especially with this setlist 🤘thanks for watching

Looks like he had to and he limited talking to the crowd but two times. In fact, this reminded me back in my stoner days when i used to go to a concert in the late 70s -80s they wouldn’t even talk. They just jam every song back to back without talking. It sounded great I agree. Thanks for watching 🤘

In 1984, Queensryche was the best metal band around, and I include Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and all the rest in that. They were fresh and futuristic, but classic metal at the same time. A vocalist like Geoff Tate is one in a billion, and Queensryche had him. They had everything. Great musicianship, and songwriting, great look and stage presence and a live show down pat. I was lucky enough to see them on The Warning tour opening for Kiss and they just completely blew my mind. They were so young, but they had their act together rock solid. At the time they were the best pure metal band for me. I also saw them a year or two later on the Rage For Order tour. I feel so lucky to have grown up in that era and to have seen so many killer bands. This version of the band sounds great and it's as close as you're ever going to get to travelling back to 1984
@metalfan210Ай бұрын
@@franklee875 you are on point I agree it was a great time for QR and what was to come on the following albums pure badass. This is my flashback moment to here it in it entirety and that felt good. 🤘I know many viewers will say Tate was better or just a cover band but why comment on something that will never be. I say regardless who plays or sings the vocals, it’s nice to still hear classic metal still 40 years later is sweet. I’m a metal head / rocker from the 70-80s and to still hear this in 2024 in a social competitive market. I’m supporting this band regardless of how many haters of metal outside and inside our genre. @@metalfan210Iron Maiden, for one. Metallica is another. Both bands (even given the absence of a few original members) are still at least intact from their hey day. This is just down to Wilton and Jackson and they weren't even the primary songwriters for the band at their heights. That was DeGarmo and Tate. Personally, I felt when DeGarmo left it was over for them.
