What's super about this? There's a bike lane adjacent to the sidewalk, two of the three kids seated themselves, and the climate is mild. This is a walk in the park compared to wrangling your kids in a busy parking lot where one wrong move means they're instantly killed by a large SUV, strapping your kids into their car seats on a hot day, and hearing them whine because they want to go outside. This is sadly the reality of living in the US even if I wish it weren't so. If it sounds like I'm jealous of NL it's because I am. Enjoy your infrastructure and don't take it for granted.

This is too much and quite dangerous. 40-50 kg on the back and 30 kg or so up front. No way she can manouvre with all this weight. One kid on the back and small kid upfront is maximum. We can be all proud and what more but she is a danger in the traffic.

Clickbait. For her - and other experienced bikers - this is just another normal day picking up the kids. And she is not even a mum here. She is the grandmother - around 1:20-:1:35 you can hear the kids clearly saying Oma. All it takes is proper city planning - and maybe ebikes to tackle the hilly cities of the world.

Well,this is not that normal..Normal is one on the front and one on the back.Thats how my mother did it somewhere around 1950.

My mother too with the twins, one on the front seat and one on the back, and my brother and me each on a kids bike between her and the curb, bringing us to school. With four small kids to take care off, living outside of town and you need to go out to bring the oldest two to school, and no car. But this was early seventies, the streets were car infested and not as safe as today and there were not so many cycle paths back then. I don’t know how my mom did it, but nothing ever happened. Maybe she died a thousand lives of scariness but she never showed it.

These days there are a huge range of child trailers for carrying kids plus a wide variety of cargo bikes built for the purpose and all with electric motors to make it much easier. But for what looks like the 1970's, this is totally cool and the gang! One of the coolest videos I have seen on KZbin is a woman with a long tailed cargo ebike. She had one child sitting shotgun on a seat in front and two on larger seats behind. Then she had another two in a kids trailer being pulled behind. It was very impressive but also because of the electric motor and a much bigger and heavier ebike also much easier than the hard work this woman had to do using just her own physical strength. But as I always say, a trailer whether for children or carrying large or heavy cargo turns any bike into a cargo bike.

Just caught this. Love the comments. And yes I used to be a “supermum” too. One at the front, one on the back, shopping backs at the back, basket at the front. Now I'm a “super granny” (74). One on the back and one on her own bike riding along side. So pleased to be able to still do it.

That's not a supermom, this is super irresponsible. Not even wearing helmets and no chance to protect any of the kids in case of an accident. Or would you tell me, there is NEVER a bike involved in a crash in Netherlands?

Of course there is but it's actually very rare. The Netherlands has one of the lowest traffic fatalities in the world.

@@Brozius2512 obviously you have no kids, because when you think of your children's safety, it's better to put on helmets, than just go with feeling that in Netherlands no one falls from bike and trust, that nothing could happen to you and children, because you are immortal. :) The question here is more about kids, not her ability to drive by herself alone and as you can see on video there is many bikes which are going with very fast speed, so you can trust them, that they can react fast to avoid accident with her?? Nope.

I saw three kids and a mom on a bike in the Netherlands when I was cycling there 30 years ago. It was in a village, near Den Hague as I recall.

Lovely to see! Holland is so much better set up for bikes though. It would be a bit dangerous in UK. I did this in Oxford with my kids 35 years ago, but with a trike. 2 kids on the back, one on the front in a bike seat. More stable and wider. Cars gave me a wide berth!

I just have an ordinary bike but I find when I pull one of my fairly large bike trailers that cars give me a wider berth because I'm now half as wide as a car. This got me thinking and now I ride always with a 70cm wide piece of black plastic half inch water pipe (the same width as my handlebars with mirrors) attached to the back of my carrier with two bright flashing led lights on either side. This makes me appear much wider and visible to traffic approaching from behind, especially at night. Personally I think this is working wonderfully for me and is a very effective additional safety feature. It's attached using two jubilee/pipe clips and can be added or removed in a half a minute as required.
