Thrice have a real melancholic sound, all those minor, diminished, and dominant 7th chords. It's unique and helps set them apart. They have insane song writing skills to create this stuff. GOAT post-rock band imo.

There's many who'll tell you they'll give you their love When they say give, they mean take They hang around just like vultures 'till push comes to shove And take flight when the earth starts to shake Someone may say that they'll always be true, then slip out the door before the dawn But I won't leave you hanging on Another may stay 'till they find someone new, then before you know they'll be gone But I won't leave you hanging on No, I won't Won't be that someone And come what may, I won't abandon you or leave you behind Because love is a loyalty sworn, not a burning for a moment Come what may, I will be standing right here by your side I won't run away though the storm's getting worse and there's no end in sight Some talk of destiny, others of fate, soon they'll be saying goodbye But I won't leave you high and dry 'Cause a ring don't mean nothing if you can't haul the weight and some of them won't even try But I won't leave you high and dry No, I won't Leave you wondering why And come what may, I won't abandon you or leave you behind Because love is a loyalty sworn, not a burning for a moment Come what may, I will be standing right here by your side I won't run away though the storm's getting worse and there's no end in sight Storms will surely come But true love is a choice you make and you are the one That I have set my heart to choose As long as I live, I swear I'll see this through Come what may, I won't abandon you or leave you behind Because love is a loyalty sworn, not a burning for a moment Come what may, I will be standing right here by your side I won't run away though the storm's getting worse and there's no end in sight And come what may, I won't abandon you or leave you behind Because love is a loyalty sworn, not a burning for a moment Come what may, I will be standing right here by your side I won't run away though the storm's getting worse and there's no end in sight

I love the drums on this song. Riley is so unique with his drum beats. He makes sure every song is different, not the same shitty drum beats a lot of drummers play for basically every song. The song "Between The End And Where We Lie" off the album Vheissu has an awesome drum beat during the chorus. There's so many great Thrice songs I can't keep count, but the song "For miles" which is also off of Vheissu is such an epic song, a fuckin masterpiece. Vheissu was a turning point for Thrice in a sense of experimentation. We can't forget about Artist In The ambulance! An album where you can just let it play through cause every song is so fuckin good. It's such a powerful album that in my book is a classic!

Definitely just regular standard here. Pretty straightforward major and minor chords except for the b7 as the last chord in the chorus

I always thought the lyrics were "not a BURDEN for a moment" and "if it can't HOLD the weight." This being a more stripped-down acoustic version really called my attention to the proper lyrics.
