Great video. Subscribed 👍. As a 59 year old western NC native I grew up fishing a few of the small wild trout streams with worms and spinners. In my mid twenties I got a job on the road and quit trout fishing for years. I just started fly fishing last year and fell in love with it all over again. I have fished a few of the delayed harvest streams but had much rather catch a 5-6” wild brookie as a 20” stocker and I get just as excited as you do every time I catch one. Looking forward to your next adventure and maybe we’ll meet up on a wild trout stream some day.

The rainbows were munching on cicadas yesterday on Mill Creek. Mill Creek had some flow yesterday too, lots of water in the creeks right now.

I am from Raleigh. I used to sleep in a 2 door Cherokee and fish these same spots. Those falls were one of the first places I drove to 30 years ago when I turned 16. Love the videos.

Ahren, those were some quality bows down there! As far as you went downstream from trail head, I went upstream and they be some decent fish up there too.

What a great day of fishing. Except for the net incident, which you seem not to let it get you down. That was a great fishing trip. I'm glad you took us along. Be blessed. My friend.

I watch a KZbin channel www.youtube.com/@LooknFishy He uses a hat mount for his Go Pro and it gives you a viewpoint of his eyes. No arms or waders in the shot and he takes it off and either holds it or sets the hat down to get a video with himself in it. That said looks like you had a good day. I am heading there in a few days.

Drove down again this morning to Mill Creek this time. What an awesome little stream. Waded and fished for 5 hours, caught one, lost several (no barb hooks) and had fun in spots with the smaller fish. Water was very clear along most of the creek, even tho it rained again this morning.

The video needs to be worked on? You should also go over your setups? Where are you fishing and what part of the river are you fishing? Is this below Bull Shoals dam? Thank you

youre setting upstream, also turn your rod and turn there head to the side to control them. You are letting the fish have control. (ex fishing guide) watched a few of your videos and you will increase your hookups. I wondered why on some of your past videos why you were losing so many

There’s a lot more holdovers there than you realize but it’s always an even better day when you’re catching wild trout! And most poachers aren’t a big danger to the trout,
@Bradimoose4 ай бұрын
I like starting with a dry dropper rig. I use a elk hair caddis and a small nymph. If I'm getting most hits on the dry fly then I'll clip off the dropper and add a second usually smaller dry fly and fish a double dry fly to figure out what they like best. The double dry with one big and one small fly lets you fish the second one really small when they're hard to see.
