Great combat, beautiful graphics, awesome story and character development, interesting and innovative puzzles, however....too many puzzles to further the story, dungeons are way to long with their puzzles. It became a real chore to do them. The only reason I continued playing was for the story.

It really felt empty at the end, not being able to see the choices at the end at the very least. I agree there were some good parts in the dlc, but like you said we didnt get to go outside of the store. I did like dialogue with the foosball games with gabe though.

Corrections to some of your statements: You absolutely CAN make gold weapons from the scientist. You can carry up to 2 weapons; unlocked in the skill tree. You can keep weapons of any level (you implied in your closer there were guns you couldn't keep). There are THREE minigames, you didn't even mention them. There's a 2nd bed you can sleep in for arena mode, which is a great way to see all the guns. The "cycle" you mentioned: wake up, read note, go to level... you're supposed to explore the hospital. There's an unseen benefactor slowly giving you ways to access more parts of the hospital. This might be why you feel like the game progressed so slowly and rarely changed; you missed 2/3rds of the content.

The thing is for this game, it's meant to be replayable. There are so many missed things not mentioned here. For example, you want to upgrade your skill trees (plural, because there are like 3 of them), but do not have the time/patience to go throught the minigames? You can disable them on the game's options, since all minigames are practically the same. And after beating the game for the first time, you'll get a redux mode, which takes off some of the levels, but you can still replay them on another save file. Another thing is, once you beat the game, you enter the NG+ territory too, where you can see the full potential the game has to offer. Also,there are some arena levels, which go infinetly until you either die, or quit prematurely.

Agreed with your ranking. although I never played 2 or Double Exposure. Wasn't really interested in 2 and haven't had a chance to play DE. I thought BFS was a letdown. Third chapter felt like D9 just got tired and left us with an unsatisfying cut scene. What made 1 so good is we were faced with a choice that didn't allow for a "happy" ending. We were left with wanting to know how Max would cope with the loss of Chloe, or the destruction of Arcadia Bay. In other words, it was good storytelling.

Act 3 and 1 are still my fav, act 2 aside of the lights off event, was just a boring desert so is my least fav.

I’m unsure if you have played any other atlus games besides P5 but the battle system specifically with the crystals giving you extra turns is called the press turn system which is ripped straight from mainline SMT. If you like that sort of extra added complexity I might recommend SMTV: Vengeance

True Colors is so overhated. I loved it so much and found Alex so relatable. The whole story was just great. And Steph was so ride or die type of gal. She always believed me and was on my side.

Honestly LIS2 is my absolute favourite out of all of them, don't understand why it's so underrated.

Maybe I am the only one that put BtS on top. For me, it was better than Life is strange 1. Lack of power is not a dealbreaker, but it was probably the only game from the series that had so accurate feelings Cloe could have felt. It just goes deep down that she was before she became blue haired Cloe. Transformation of her character is just top. Ending, though, disappointingly meh

I would say my ranking would be literally in order of it's release( from best to worst) 1. Life Is Strange 1 ( what a damn masterpiece. It was perfection. The soundtrack , the characters, the plot , everything) 2. Life Is Strange: Before the Storm ( Few missing plot holes but it was beautiful & oh god the soundtrack. Daughter did such a good job. ) 3. Life Is Strange 2 ( First 2 episodes weren't that great but man episode 3, 4 and 5 were so damn brilliant. Again great soundtrack) 4. Life Is Strange: True Colours ( It was a nice game, but it wont stick) 5. Life Is Strange : Double Exposure ( It really lacked soul + They butchered the first game with this storyline. Had to drag myself to finish it)

I found it funny in the last review you talked about how you liked True Colors because you could relate more to Alex. I like LiS1 because I can relate more to Max. Funny how that is really all it took for me to like Double Exposure. It depends on how much you like the characters first and then how willing are you to go on a hella a ride with them.

Basically, Chloe in Before the Storm can see the future in her dreams, and also talk to William. By the way, a whole part of the plot was cut from the game, where it was said that Rachel can control fire. That's why the fire suddenly stopped after Rachel ended up in the hospital... Such a throw back to Resident Evil or perhaps Code Veronica since the background is more advanced than the old pre-rendered backgrounds from RE1. On a side note, it’s nice that you’re a real reviewer and not an AI generated voice that some people are using for their videos.

Deck Nine's writers unfortunately can't hold a candle to Dontnod's writing team, this has become glaringly obvious through BtS, True colors and now Double Exposure. They do a good job emulating the aesthetics, world building, and soundtracks of the DontNod games though. It's not even that DeckNine's writers are bad, it's just that everything they write is passable without anything being outstanding. The design of the games are also far less branching.

I appreciate you tend to preffer the older games (same as me) and don't hold the same opinion as pretty much everyone else. While I enjoyed this game I was left absolutely disappointed when they forced us to spend most of our time outside Hogwarts doing things that no one who has ever been a fan of the series cares for. Not to mention, the outside world they created is so bland and unecessary. I hope the sequel focuses more on an interpersonal story, relationships, balancing school life with whatever main threat arises, exploration and choices, and overall ends up being smaller scale and focused. I also am not the biggest fan of having to set these games in a different time period from the main series, as that causes most of the enivronemens and characters I am a fan of not to be present, while what remains are people I find boring, with safe writing and just not the feeling I am looking for. With the news that the sequel will have a deep connection with the main story of the HBO show, I wonder what this could mean.

Great review! I've also played all of these games, and I thought I had things mostly figured out while playing this one. I was blown away with the twists and couldn't put it down. I was pretty underwhelmed too with the ending, and the main choice near the end didn't have much of a difference between them with the outcome. One of the things near the end has been something that I've hoped they would explore, so excited for the future of this series and to play as Max again.

I always go for kasumi in P5 royal because I just feel bad for not dating her. It's the same reason I always date Aigis in P3, sorry yukari fans if we ever have a canon romance it's going to be Aigis and not yukari because Aigis is just the more popular character. Side note: I do hope that Yukari x Mitsuru becomes canon one day, if you've played P4 Arena Ultimax then you know why I like this ship. 3. Ann 2. Kasumi 1. Hifumi Hifumi stole my heart with her beauty, her velvet voice and her scenes. I live her style, her modesty, her approach to things. Nothing is OTT with Hifumi, it all feels organic and solid as a foundation for a relationship. I couldn't get past Makoto's personality at the beginning of the game, she was toxic for far too long.

Kasumi is definitely the best. Makoto is up there out of the base choices but her social link is just pretty mid, compared to Ann's it's super weak. Probably the worst out of the PT's tbh
