For me, the pound hamburger ís 👍🏽 good for 4-10 servings. $4.50 Can of Beans $1 5 lb Potatoes bag $2.50 Lettuce head 90¢ Onion 30-50¢ 2 bread rolls 50¢ MENU : 4 Open face 3 oz Burgers with lettuce, onion ( on half roll); (oven) fries. {12 oz burger used} Chile Con Carne 4 oz ground beef + can of beans + 1/3 onion + what's good from your pantry: tomato sauce or crushed, ketchup?, red or green chile sauce, chili seasoning or chile powder/cumin/oregano/dried garlic.... OR flavor with ANY sauce you have in fridge, like BBQ sauce, Teriyaki, Korean Gochujang, Sofrito, NM chile sauce, etc Served with Baked or Mashed or Home-fried Potatoes. Salad or Lettuce RollUps/Cups (for a spoonful of Chile Con Carne in a lettuce wrapped biteful). Minced 1/3 Onion, to top Chile/ Potato/Salad. How's that?

Potato is a vegetable. You don't have to eat vegetables with every meal. It is actually nicely balanced.
