Egr is long gone along with the swirl flaps and the dpf. Motor is well over 500,000km it has already been rebuild once. Its a good workhorse.

The car is running a garret 2359vgt turbo with a stage 3 ecu remap, it also has water-methanol injection. Also has a stage 3 tcm remap with a standalone controller that pretty much allows you to do anything you want to do with the transmission. I have done a sub 5 second 0-60 run when launching in 2nd gear, that puts a lot of stress on the transmission and drive train components but it just had to be done once.

350hp with water/methanol, around 310-315 with just boost. It's set at 1.9 bar, makes that with the help of a 2359 hybrid turbo made by GR Turbo ltd.

I think the evo had a cat C12 engine. I've heard a lot of bad things about that engine so we are keeping the merc engine.

@@actualyoungfarmer1078 yeah probably a better shout and I think Merc parts are much easier to come by apparently if the worst happens, nothing beats opening the back of a combine or chopper and seeing the Mercedes badge on the covers 😂

@@harry.bethwaite Yeah, that's very fortunate that the only thing in this machine that's rather cheap to maintain is the engine. It shares the engine with various buses and trucks, you just go to your local junkyard and there are loads of these laying around. But the pistons, rods and crankshaft i belive are strengthend up , so those are the only part that's not shared with the buses and trucks.

I average about 18l per 100km just normal city driving, im on 245/65 r17 tires, on the highway i get about 11-13l going 120-140kmh. Not bad but definitely not a prius.

I got into a head on collision and the whole front end of the jeep was messed up and everything had to be replaced, I found a facelift bumper and facelift headlights used and very cheap so I thought they look better, fitting the headlights was a bit of a pain but we got it to work.

That's about the best sound you can get from this engine, I've experimented around with different mufflers, even those straight through ones just make the car sound like a vaccum cleaner or like one of those active sound systems that play "engine noise" through speakers. As for the gutted cat, doesn't make any difference in sound, I've ran open turbo before with just a pipe to bring the heat away from the turbo, sounds exactly the same

The 642.858 engine, so it's the later sleeved model with the water cooled turbo. What modifications can i do to the transmission to make it handle the torque and where can i get those parts?

We had it for a while but just didn't use it all that much, few years ago we used to do a lot of custom harvesting, we also had a case 2188, a john deere w650 and a new holland cx8080 along with the lexions. We quit doing custom work to focus on our farm and we just didn't need that many combines and most of them got sold and we kept just these lexions. We don't really know if we wanna sell it yet because it's awesome to have 2 combines of the same make, you can swap parts easily if one breaks or something.

@@actualyoungfarmer1078 I agree good for parts or if both are usable you can swap machines. How many acres do you farm now? How many acres did you cut when contracting?

@@roberthiggins6401 We farm around 3000 acres now, used to be 5400 back when we did contracting but we couldn't manage all that. I mean it's easy to go and buy more machines and even bigger machines but that's not the problem. It's hard to find good operators that are willing to work hard. I've discussed in one of my seeding videos that it's hard to find people over here. Most of the good operators have already left the country and work somewhere else where the pay is thicker.

@@actualyoungfarmer1078 Oh I see. Its such a shame people aren't interested in farming or if they are in farming, they just treat it as a job. To me it's a way of life as I'm sure it is to you. I can understand going elsewhere where pay is better but again it's a real shame. Do you mind me asking what countries they've gone to?

@@roberthiggins6401 Most of them took off to Germany and Spain. There are some huge cattle farms out there and I've heard the pay is pretty big.

Yes, you are right. But nobody really buys bird feed in such large quantities, our sunflower mostly goes towards sunflower oil plants.

Claas introduced the APS hybrid system back in 1995, it basically has a thrashing drum and twin rotors, thats why they call it "hybrid". The smaller lexions are very good and reliable. We have a 460 which is also a walker combine, it's simple and reliable. Not as much parts as on the bigger lexions, pretty easy to maintain and run.

@@actualyoungfarmer1078 Thank you for the response and clarification. I will probably go for a 420 or 430 as our first combine. We farm about 100ha in north of Serbia, expanding by 10- 20 ha each year and we haven't had a combine for almost 30 years since my grandfather sold his 😆

Yeah, that's pretty sad because some of the smaller farmers don't profit as much need only as much as one bad year to totally lose all their money. The government really screwed us over, farmers that own land over 600 hectares won't be getting any government funding and with prices that high of absolutely everything, farming is almost impossible. As for the fertilizer, my grandpa has a friend that works at the dock where we get our fert from, because all the fert we get is imported from Russia, Egypt, Turkey and so on, he said that he has seen it with his own eyes how they steal half of the fert, fill up the bags with something that looks like normal urea fertilizer but it's not. So not only do you buy fertilizer that's 5x overpriced but you don't even get half the fertilizer you are buying. We we're wondering why all our yields are so bad considering the year wasn't all that dry.

@@actualyoungfarmer1078 That's scandalous! Do you know what they replace the fertiliser with and who's responsible for doing it? Incidentally do you have any Belarus tractors or crawlers?

@@roberthiggins6401 The company that imports the fertilizer isn't Bulgarian, i believe it's Russian. They take half of the fert, refill the bags with something that looks like normal fert but definitely isn't. They probably resell it to some westren countries that pay more and make triple the profit. We have a Belarus 925.2 tractor, check out my seeding videos, we use it a lot.

I ment to say decares but my accent makes it sound like acres, so 500 decares is around 50 hectares i believe, we went through those with lots of trouble. Stay tuned for the next few videos.

We are from Bulgaria, the yield is rougly around 500kg per decare, which is about 5 tons per hectare. Good luck to you too mate, i hope you get a lot of yield.

@@actualyoungfarmer1078 Thanks. A few farmers have made a start and a small amount of barley has been cut. I'm nearly 50 and never known harvest start in June. Seems yields aren't too bad considering we've had a very dry spring. You speak fantastic English makes it nice to see how you're getting on. Keep on farming.

Full straight pipe, catless, also no dpf, gtb2359vk turbo, water methanol injection, swirl and egr deleted. You also gotta change the high pressure fuel pump which i totally forgot to mention in the video, but it's literally a bolt on, i took it from a mercedes s400 cdi, the stock one is good only for about 310bhp, then you start to run out of flow. The stock injectors are good enough for 400bhp but i wouldn't dare going over 350 on stock engine internals.

It's fully straight piped. 3'5 inch pipe going straight from the gutted catalytic converter to the back.

@@HowtoRestoreHeadlights Custom tune from HEED 91, they struggled a lot to make the tune because of the hybrid turbo, turns out nobody else around here throws loads of money trying to make these things faster, so they did not have any experience with this kinda stuff. I really thought they would do because it's a mercedes engine and i know that tuning these 350cdi's (om642) is common but they told me that when the engine is in a mercedes car, it uses a completely different computer as opposed to the one used in chrysler-jeep models. It was very hard but they managed to get it done. Car runs 0-100km/h in 5 seconds, gearbox doesn't like the torque. I'll do a data logging video soon, stay tuned.

I recently rebuilt the torque converter since it was on it's way out, other than that the TCU has been remapped and has had the torque limitations raised from 550nm to 850 so it doesn't cut out power when accelerating in a longer gear. Other than that the transmission is stock. I try to avoid launching it from a dig since this is when damage can occur.

Pretty bad honestly, the previous owner didn't know what maintenance is and now all the bad stuff is happening to me. They are tough and reliable when maintained properly though.

@@coucouj2781 well, you can probably go to any exhaust shop and they'll custom weld a downpipe for you but it probably won't be cheap. Gutting the cat serves the same purpose, i don't know if the sound would be different if it was a real downpipe.
