Fair play Rob it’s amazing how other European countries seem to maintain their road surfaces to a high standard!

Hi Rob. Looks like a new career path for you there, Using your extensive skills and experience in heat engineering. Checking that wine cellars are at the ideal temperature. Compulsory testing of the contents of course. That ride looked inviting. Are the road surfaces as good as they look on screen? K.

Pretty much every road surface the other side of the English Channel was sublime. Croatia coast road was particularly good. 👍

@Robsdonearunner10 күн бұрын
Due to the Lyme Disease I’ve suffered with for 23 years now, I never get a full nights sleep but I’m quite used to that now. Yes, the views every day are amazing, I wish I had been more lucky with weather as I’ve missed crucial filming opportunities due to it lashing down. Riding to Albania today through mountains so fingers crossed?? All batteries for camera on standby so…..

My friend and I both had the F750GS, which has the same engine as your's, but in a lower tune. I do recall being horrified when I saw the handbook mention 1 litre per 1000 miles (kilometres?) oil consumption. He had to top up his oil between services, I never did. So I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoying the series so far!
@Robsdonearunner26 күн бұрын
Thanks Mark, that's reassuring. My good friends old KTM 950S Adventure also used around a litre per 1000 miles which shocked me. He stated that he opened up the engine himself to rebuild it (almost out of curiosity and apparently it was clean as a whistle inside so I guess some engines just use a bit more than others. Still find it unnerving though. Glad you're enjoying the series.

Hi Rob , could i offer a wee bit of advice when strapping down the bike . Always put the ratchet to the side stand side its more planted/stable if the ship rolls. This is a typical P&O thing making you do it as if bike goes over its your fault and they try to wash their hands of responsibility. I live in N.I. and have travelled for 40 years by ferry and have seen it happen. Stena are the only ones to strap down. PS Enjoy your trip.Regards Robert
