Just here to talk about this putz. Who is only good at making songs that never end, and pissing off ticketmaster. It's too bad they picked a Cure song to cover. And I am glad I finished this comment before the ad was over and I was forced to listen to "his" rendering of it. God Pearl Jam sucked.

Interesting what Pearl Jam would sound like if they actually wrote songs that had melody.

Friggin’ LOVE IT!!! More bands should do the “band challenge battle” and challenge each other to play each bands most popular songs! ….now THAT I would pay to watch!!! Let’s go!🙋🏻♂️

The first time I saw PJ was back in 1995 when they came to Australia for the first time (First Melbourne Show). They opened up with Release and played behind a big white sheet and when ed sings "Oh dear dad can you see us (me) now" The white curtin dropped and there they were! I've never heard a roar like it since... I still get goose bumps thinking about it 30 years later! I've seen these guys every time they have toured Australia (They were amazing in Nov 24) and I a bucket list gig is seeing these guys in Seattle oneway 🤘 Thanks for sharing the video

Dinosaur Jnr did a cover of this on an album that Vedder also sang on so maybe he got some influence from that position as well.

Just came from their first Sydney, Aus show last night and they opened with Release, which they haven't played at any of their other Aus shows this tour and the tear that rolled down my face from the emotion this song provokes was so unexpected but joyful and i can't stop reliving the moment (post show blues). Amazing what music can do to you.

Thank you for sharing this! I can't explain it, but I have always had such a deep emotional connection with this song........ "I'll wait up in the dark for you to speak to me" just annihilates....... Hard to explain why some words put together can do that, but holding back tears is hard..... And then hearing a whole audience of people singing it.....Absolutely beautiful, I wish there were more human moments like this in this world.

They played this N1 at Fenway, second song. I was so hoping they would play it. And every time I hear this song live, I have tears streaming down my face and I am singing along with him and the whole crowd. It moves me. Thank you for this great video and for sharing! Long live Pearl Jam!!! #Jamily

SO GLAD you got this. Was there with my brother, just like every Pearl Jam show I’ve ever been to. This band, all the opening songs we’ve ever heard (and spent time excitedly guessing, “what song do you think they’ll open with?”,) ….they all mean so much. What a night!! I filmed a little of the beginning, but then put my phone away for the night, so thank you.
