I was an unmarried girl I'd just turned twenty-seven When they sent me to the sisters For the way men looked at me Branded as a Jezebel I knew I was not bound for Heaven I'd be cast in shame Into the Magdalene laundries Most girls come here pregnant Some by their own fathers Bridget got that belly by her parish priest We're trying to get things white as snow All of us woe-begotten-daughters In the streaming stains Of the Magdalene laundries Prostitutes and destitutes And temptresses like me Fallen women Sentenced into dreamless drudgery Why do they call this heartless place Our Lady of Charity? Oh charity! These bloodless brides of Jesus If they had just once glimpsed their groom Then they'd know, and they'd drop the stones Concealed behind their rosaries They wilt the grass they walk upon They leech the light out of a room They'd like to drive us down the drain At the Magdalene laundries Peg O'Connell died today She was a cheeky girl A flirt They just stuffed her in a hole! Surely to God you'd think at least some bells should ring! One day I'm going to die here too And they'll plant me in the dirt Like some lame bulb That never blooms, come any spring Not any spring

Say it ain't so, Joe, please Say it ain't so That's not what I wanna hear, Joe And I got a right to know Say it ain't so, Joe, please Say it ain't so I'm sure they telling us lies, Joe Please tell us it ain't so They told us our hero had played his trump card He doesn't know how to go on We're clinging to his charm and determined smile But the good old days have gone The image and the empire may be failing apart The money has gotten scarce One man's word held the country together But the truth is getting fierce Say it ain't so, Joe, please Say it ain't so We pinned our hopes on you, Joe And they're ruining our show Ooh baby Don't you think We're gonna get burned? Ooh baby Don't you think We're gonna get burned? We're gonna to get turned We're gonna get burned We're gonna to get turned We're gonna get burned We're gonna get learned Yes, we're gonna get burned We're gonna get burned We're gonna get learned Yes, we're gonna get turned We're gonna get burned Say it ain't so, Joe, please Say it ain't so That's not what I wanna hear Joe And I got a right to know Say it ain't so, Joe, please Say it ain't so I'm sure they're telling us lies, Joe Please tell us it ain't so Told us that the leader has played his trump card He doesn't know how to go on You're clinging to his charm and determined smile But the good old days have gone Say it ain't so, Joe, please Say it ain't so I pinned my hopes on you, Joe And they're ruining our show The image and the empire may be falling apart The money has gotten scarce One man's word held the country together But the truth is getting fierce Say it ain't so, Joe, please Say it ain't so That's not what I wanna hear, Joe And I got a right to know Say it ain't so, Joe, please Say it ain't so I'm sure they're telling us lies, Joe Please tell us it ain't so That's all I wanna hear, Joe And I got a right to know

found animal collective when i used to play skate 3 as a kid i miss that, i miss those times and i miss my family, i miss myself The last movie at the cinema i watched with dad was jojo rabbit and the final scene they dance, they say thats what free people do, dance. So i danced a lot on my own I liked to dance when i was down, when i started using alcohol as a kid and when my dad was in the hospital all the nights i couldnt see him i danced on my own hoping to see him one day again. I keep dancing when i go out to listen to music like its all i got, he liked going to see live music too, but i feel like im going downhill

There is a house in New Orleans You call the Rising Sun. It's been the ruin of many a poor soul And me, oh God, I'm one. If I'd listened to what mama said, I'd be at home today. Being so young and foolish, poor girl I let a gambler lead me astray . My mother she's a tailor, Sews those new blue jeans. My sweetheart, he's a drunkard, Lord God He drinks down in New Orleans. He fills his glasses to the brim, Passes them around. The only pleasure that he gets out of life Is a-hoboin' from town to town. The only thing a drunkard needs Is a suitcase and a trunk. The only time that he's half satisfied Is when he's on a drunk. Go and tell my baby sister Never do like I have done. Shun that house down in New Orleans That they call that Rising Sun. It's one foot on the platform, One foot on the train. I'm going back down to New Orleans To wear my ball and my chain. My life is almost over, My race is almost run. Going back down to New Orleans To that house of the Rising Sun.
