Hi, thanks for being in touch. Well, it depends on your expectations. It certainly is one of the more affordable places in the Maldives. Therefore the standard is not ultra-luxurious, but the pavillions are nice, spacious and clean. Some of them were closed for renovation works (the overwater ones), so I cannot testify for all of them, but the beach pavillions had a good standard - smelled a bit of bug spray, otherwise okay. The main restaurant however was a bit run down and the food was not of good quality or much variety. Some of the staff were very friendly and great, others were downright unfriendly and gave the impression one is just a walking credit card (those at the airport, the bar and restaurant and the maids were great, those at the reception not so much). Overall I can recommend it if you are travelling on a budget and don´t expect the facilities to be top-notch, spotless once-in-a-lifetime-luxury, but if you are happy with a good, clean accomodation, the breathtaking island as such and don´t care too much about food and drinks quality and impeccable friendlyness. Hi Lauren, thanks for being in touch. I´ve been there in july and august 2023, there was construction work at the train station, but I heard none of it in the hotel or in the rooms. Hope this helps.

@@cjk1975 went about 5 years ago and tried a few other islands but nothing comes close to Kihaa don’t wast time scouting out any others ….this is the one and only Maldives experience and your video should capture peoples imaginations of what to expect

@@uklifestylefoodtravelvlogs3211 If I remember correctly the return flight by seaplane from Malé to Kihaa was 500 $. There was an option to go by a normal plane instead, which lands on an airfield on the neighbouring island, and that was 400 $. With both options you are being picked up by speed boat for the last leg. But I don't think that there is a speedboat connection from the capital, as it is too far away - it is a forty minutes flight from Malé.

@@uklifestylefoodtravelvlogs3211 $ 500 currently are approx 390 to 400 pounds sterling, $400 are about 300 to 310 pounds sterling. I went there for ten days in late august/september and the weather was mostly sunny and brilliant, but I had two cloudy (but dry) days and one day of rain. Even though it poured down heavily, it was over rather quickly and it was still warm.

Don't worry and don't be deceived, the traffic noise cannot be heard in the cabins. And the street is considerably less used during nighttime anyway.
