I'll give a thumbs up because this is one of the few Pantera covers that sound like it's being taken seriously... all these modern bands trying to shred Dime's crunchy sludgy riffs with sparkly overproduced guitars, making it sound Nu Metal really annoy me... and all the singers I hear doing Phil's vocals on Cemetery Gates with no vibrato make it sound dull and emotionless... honestly I'd rather hear older bands paying tribute; when Testament, Anthrax, Metallica, Megadeth, Sodom, Kreator etc. do covers they always do a nice job; it doesn't have to be exactly like the original, in fact-it should have a band's personal touch, but you can't make a good cover with bands that aren't equally skilled or talented

I love Chimaira and Pantera they are both outstanding bands and have their own styles which I respect I personally loved the cover its one of my favs from far beyond driven

Mark can have a very wide range of vocals if he wanted to. Listen to all his songs, you'll see. But I agree, Mark is no Phil... but Phil is no Mark Hunter.

BTW it isn't about who's better musicly, it's about what gets released. You can have badass members in your band and suck. Or you can have a badass band that make amazing music in their own time period. Pantera was frigging amazing. Remember there wasn't much going on main stream until these came broke shxt left and right. Vulgar display, Far beyond, these made music the way it is. I was there and had to suffer thru the fake stuff on the radio it was horrible.

They need to get Jamie Jasta to do some covers him and Phil have same style. The original entire album blew me away the 1st I listened to it since their was no Itunes / KZbin and it was the 1st time I'd ever heard something so powerful. That and I don't dig the whole gargled voice thing for the most part. See in these guys (Pantera live was just awesome tho, I seen then stop a Marilyn Manson set for misuse of the US flag. I never been more sure of true awesomeness. RIP Dimebag

I liked it. It doesn`t compare to the original, but I haven`t heard much covers in general that is better than the original anyway..

@PsychoSiKS I don't know who recorded the drums on this song, but if it's Andols Herrick (who for the majority of their recordings has been Chimaira's drummer), then I have to strongly disagree with you. Check out some videos of Andols. I'm with ya about liking Vinnie....he's great and I have nothing bad to say about him. But seriously, Andols is quite the drummer....more skilled than even the legendary Vinnie. Obviously just my opinion, just thought I'd share that with ya.
