You are not wrong there.The Pentalina was retired a while after this vid and sat at Gills Bay on the north of Scotland. They got a new boat.MV Alfred. Then it was put back in to service on the west coast with Call Mac as a rental at £1m p/m was reported. Call Macs normal boat had to have major repairs to it if I remember right. The new ship ran aground 2022 and then the Pentealina ran aground 2023. Not sure where it is now. Probably sitting at Gills Bay. M😀

If I remember right the internal one if you heat it up red hot and let it cool it can shrink past it original size, works some of the time. It will start on a warm day just turn the key and hold it on till it starts. The heater plug burns air o start if you use it. Or air o start straight away it will start quickly. Tying to un addict it from that. 😀M

If you use airo start the heater plug burns it up before it gets in to the pistons. The heater seems to take a lot out of the battery. Best way to start it just turn the key and keep it there till it starts or the battery go's flat. Will start after a battery charge usually. If it's started every day it seems to start easer. Thinking about an engine rebuild sometime in the future. M 😀

Hi Marshall, I have got my lathe up and going but it has a different motor from factory. The machine is always spinning in reverse. The motor spins clockwise which is the correct rotation for the coolant pump. Is there I way to reverse the machine or is the motor incorrect? Thanks

@@jamesnelson1953 Yes fit a barrel switch that will give you forward and reverse. Watch my vid fitting one, 39min 30 sec in to vid. If it's the starter you are referring to it just bolts on, no gasket same with fan blade. The starter is out of a Ford lorry that used the same engine and has key start rather than lever start. Which the tractor starter has. M 😀

Hi Marshall, that sea air can cause some damage, you can get solenoids for about £25 and I got a replacement cap put on mine for £5, the auto diesel shop didn't charge for swapping it over. good video, I love the way you keep going when others would have given up long ago. keep up the good work Barry

Well I don't have much else to do. A solenoid for 996 is around £40 I could by a cap and solder it in myself. I think it needs a bit more thought. I don't see problems just varying degrees of difficulty. You know will I have one cup of tea while I scratch my head or 2 🙂M

Hi Marshall, they tried to give us that shit, when I phoned them they said they would defer it for another five years. your line speed, BT in renowned for lying about the line speed, when I would complain they would turn mine up and have to turn the neighbours down, then when he complained they did the opposite, it pays also to remember when they talk line speed theyre talking about bits, when we talk line speed we talk about bytes and a bit is 8X bigger than a byte, but talking in bits always sounds much faster. it's all a con mate! have fun, love your kitten, Barry

Hi Marshall, very well done getting that back together in the wonderfull Scotish weather. those torque paterns are a bugger, I have know people clean off the heads of the bolts and put the numbers on them.
