Or come on down to the coast around Galveston! Texas city dike is really good for Redfish in October November. seawolf park Galveston is another great location 🫡

Go to a new shop..... Or request a different dude..... Hes not even intermediate level... Let alone the capability to properly instruct... WTF srsly... Not tryna bash... Actually I dont care about him or the shop or his little feelings. I DO care about YOU as a new archer... And hes teaching you wrong, and not teaching the essentials like your release, the technique, then again the release, but how to fit it to your size/hands/drawlength. Its completely wrong fixed to your wrist, and that causes you to stretch your index finger and use the very tip to activate the trigger.... WRONG with capital S! And them he says "the way the bow shoots" (straight or not), thats not on "you" per se... (it is and it isnt). But first its on the rest, nockpoints for a compound.. Had you shot a non-release triggered bow it can in rare occasions also be a (hand) release-error, but combined with a jerk of the body. Usually comes out of fatique issues. But thats another road.. For you if the arrows sticks nock high or nock low, its bc of rest or nock issues. Sideways sticks, nock left or nock right, are bc of spine issues (both, in general terms, but its where you start). My point is he should tune the bow/arrow before that. Otherwise those are pointless readings... And second point he shouldnt even be worried about you "hitting the target well this time" ... WTF.... He should teach AND focus on your form only.. Like not punching the shit out of the trigger. Praise your form at 4:12 Not for you ego sake, but for your mental note to be like oh this is proper form. And that form at that shot was perfect! (if we ignore the release-position). But rly solid elbow, and you are using at least most of your back to pull.. also VERY nice as beginner. We dont care one bit where a new shooter hits... unless you hit a car. We care about your form and tune... Then "hitting the target well" comes automatically. Then when your got that down to science.... THEN you sight in your bow... And THEN your start worrying about groupings, scores, hits, plinks whatevs! If this is their "best dude" then im sry.... Find a different shop... You shouldnt be the Guinnea pig for them learning archery... "Center-center-levelled" ..... Sigh... It gets worse and worse... You cant reliably "center-center".. So thats why ppl (EVERYONE) usually goes 6 and 9... meaning you DONT center the small ring (peep) in the middle of the bigger ring (sight housing), bc its too hard/impossible to rly center that thing with no references other than floating air space. So your sight is never rly truly sighted in. So you place the little ring to touch the 6 and 9 o clock positions bc THEN you know you are repeating your alignment. Hes RLY inexperienced this dude.... Im taking back the "intermediate" label I gave him before.. Adds "beginner" level instead. That "Stabilizor" he put on.. Is not a stabilizor at all sigh... It has no weight in teh point, and its far to short... Its a vibration dampener (which its also doing a poor job of, but its doing something at least)... In my 101% honest advice. That thing is meant ONLY for chucking in the bin after you packed it out.... Hands up! I know im shit in the mouth.. But I already said... I dont give a shit about anyones curling feelings... But im TELLING you!!! The guy!!!!..... is CLUEEEEE... LESSSS!!!!.... He hasnt even fixed your release yet. And while hes doing that he should also lower your peep a tiny bit. You are slightly "hovering". If lower it a tiny bit you can get your nose and cheek closer to a consistent anchor point whereever you choose to. I also got HUGE issues with his workplace/clutter..... He has bows at potentially 2-3000dollars (Not his money.. a clients money).... and his coffee jug right next to it to spill on all the cams and small parts... rest of table full of tools and whatnot that could accidently cut scratch the bow/string. But sigh ok... Thats on him... Is his shop.. But teaching someone should be a job for a somewhat experienced fella.. Someone who knows how, why and whats. 1:21 He doesnt even know how to setup a bow! There are only D-loop on there... There should be two tied nocks aswell. D-loop alone (can easily) case a twist/grip on the arrow already just by being nocked, bc its too tight, or the knots on the d loop could be wrong "turned" the wrong way around and such. And ALL of this TLDR post..... That is ironically enough ME!!! Not being an expert! I just know all I need... This is the absolute minimum! Im 103,8% sure a real instructor will have MAAAAANY more (but smaller) issues he wants to fix... But all this is merely the basics imho...

@@thejerseytexan I made a mistake typing "shooter" in this first question... But I meant his technician/instructor side. (Bc I havent seen him shoot so...) You can shoot well.. Lots of ppl shoot well. But they have zero clue about tuning a bow or instructing other ppl, like Olympians, gold medalists... Hunters, shoot amazing.. A lot of them never touches their bow. Only shops. Jsut as examples. Many other types of ppl who also shoot amazing, but dunno whats going on mechanically/physically. But this guy charges other ppl money for it.... But I did go a bit harsh on him with some words. That maybe not "fair-fair"... But life isnt fair.... Sry but not sry -.- However I'll try to refrain from using nasty words tho out of respect. You were doing great actually as a beginner. You are either a natural or not as beginner as I think. The few critiques I had "about you" is on him (Bc how are you supposed to know as new?!). He should be instructing you. And he was more focused on watching the target when you was shooting. So how can he tell what is wrong or correct even? I would be watching YOU.. and the bow. Specifically your breathing, your anchor, your elbow and then in the moment your finger (release), dont pull it/jerk it, just squeeze it slowly together as if its one of those containers that slowly compresses the trash inside it.

I hope you squared your bow and shooting away before heading out for deer. Watching you shoot the bow indoors exposed a multitude of problems you need to fix. By your own admission you never owned a bow then you set out for deer a short time later? Respect the animals you hunt and become proficient with the right gear before heading afield.. To many animals are wounded by people like you which unfortunately gives ethical hunters a bad reputation.

Good shooting for first time but, really need to get bow set up for your correct draw length.
