The masculine woman is obviously Clytemnestra, the batty one is Ophelia, no idea who the other one with the white hair who played the old woman in Moondial is supposed to be.

I’ve always liked Sleeping Murder book and this adaptation did it justice. The ending always makes me chuckle when in both book and tv Miss Marple comes in and sprays the killer with I can’t remember what but it’s enough to stop the killer in its tracks.

This is nostalgic to me because my mom was really into Agatha Christie novels and the shows made from them. i remember she would get the sets from the local library and also when possible buy the dvds in the early and mid 2000s. It's nostalgic because to me it was a happier time and nowadays I don't really see that side of her anymore. It's sad but at least the memory of her being happy is still there.

I love P. D. James. She is a writer that had to be made of steel and she is one of the best writers of crime fiction out there. Her detective stories are immaculately written, though they are not without their flaws. She is also a huge inspiration for me as a writer as well. She was completely right when she said that the conventions of the classical detective story can be incredibly liberating when writing about society and events within the structure of that genre. I love her books, especially her Cordelia Gray novels, "An Unsuitable Job for a Woman" and "The Skull Beneath the Skin". She was also a remarkable short story writer. Thank you for this wonderful interview! It is nice to see the real contrast between the person and the realty cheerfulness she had as a person and the vivid and terrifying and horrible murders she commits on the page. She is a writer very well missed

I well remember the theme tune which is in C major. Joan Hickson was the definitive Jane Marple. My favourite episode was The Moving Finger!

No other person fit to play miss marple only joan hickson, it was agatha christies prefered actress to play miss marple her personal choice

Beautiful music theme associated with the best Miss Marple version played by Joan Hickson. Over 30 years later, this lovely music still plays in my mind quite often. It is has a cheery and uplifting effect to my soul. Thank you for posting it! 😃🎶👏
