Hello. how long have you been flying with Arak ? And then you step up to rook3. i am flying with arak and thinking about R3 or Q3. Whats your advice ?
@richardfroggatt52942 жыл бұрын
The Arak is a great glider. It really looked after to me in some really wild thermals in Bulgaria and gave me my first 50k +. I didn't however feel that it's performance on bar was not significantly better than my previous low B. I went for the Rook after 25/30 hours on the Arak. Much quicker, particularly on bar with better glide. An easy transition. Not quite as easy to launch as the Arak, not that it overshot etc but rather that it needed the A's to get it through the power zone. Hope that helps.

@@richardfroggatt5294 thank you so much sir. Finally i have last 2 questions. how is R3 at collapases and B line stalls
@richardfroggatt52942 жыл бұрын
Hi Osman, I've never had a collapse on the Rook other ones induced by me and it behaved impeccably. Ears are tidy and don't flap and come out easily. I haven't done B line stalls either as I'm not keen on them as a descent technique. I've used Swiss spiral, one big ear and turn with the ear on the outside to get down ahead of a storm front though and that works really well.

Hi. Have you tested the wing in strong thermal conditions? How it behaves ? How do you feel it full accelerated?
@richardfroggatt52944 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately our annual trip to Bulgaria was cancelled so I haven't had the opportunity to fly in really strong conditions. I have flown it in fairly rowdy air and it is well behaved and gives an excellent feel. I use speed bar a lot and this is perhaps an area where the Rook 3 excels. Solid, quick and a very good glide ratio. Hope that helps.

Out of interest, what were the other 2 wings that were suggested, and what made you pick the Rook over them?
@richardfroggatt52944 жыл бұрын
Hi Harry, I tried the Iota and Maestro. The Iota was nice but didn’t feel special and the Maestro was too connected for me. The Rook has, for me, a really nice balance and is perhaps a bit quicker. Very efficient in Thermals and simply a joy to fly. Try one! 😁

Nice vid but holding risers in flight may get you in trouble, let alone you lose a lot of feedback from your nice glider.

Thanks, see answer below. I’m not actually holding the risers, just light contact.

Rook 3 sporty in da air???? What would you say flying with Phi Maestro than? Dont be nervous, your hand was shaking. Its a relax wing. I think Rook 3 is very calm like Swing Nyos Rs but R3 has more climbing and gliding performance. I tested for 3 hours in the Slovenian alps. I wish amazing XC flights! This wing is designed for relaxed XC records. Believe me. I have Lightness 3 too!!! Keep on filming, I liked every seconds, nice music .Safe landings!! Ciao, AirGabor

In severe turbulence I'd recommend that you stay in the pod and enjoy the ride! you can however sit up. -)

Was it really necessary to switch from a regular Arcus RS to a light one ?
@richardfroggatt52945 жыл бұрын
Not at all! The Lite is S the standard was M and I had lost weight and prefer to fly at 75%ish of the weight range.
@richardfroggatt52946 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, it is a great wing and flies on rails. I've had a couple of fairly significant collapses in very rough air but the wing sorts itself out before I can even look up! I like the wing so much I now have 2! One lightweight in S and a standard in M

Have had your rast work so far? How is it? Swing says the Arcus RS is the only wing one will ever need.

Would you recommend this wing for a beginner? I want to start with the sport and looking for the best wing. They say it's the rast technology wing.
@richardfroggatt52946 жыл бұрын
Paul von Düsseldorf. We’re all different and best to take advice from your instructor. What I can say is that the Arcus RS is as easy to fly as the Skywalk Mescal 5 A wing. In some ways maybe easier.

It is truly amazing. Smoothes out the bumps and flies on rails yet gives all the feedback you need and so easy to launch. Also outclimbs much higher class wings. I've lost weight so now have the RS Lite in small and my medium is for sale on Skyads. Friend tried mine and he's ordered one to replace Gin Atlas.
