can you use wood in your oven to cook food impart a wood/char/smoky flavour?
@MakerCuisine16 күн бұрын
Yes you can, its called smoke roast. Where you smolder the wood chips while cooking the food in the oven. I won't recommend it for residential ovens though just cause there needs to be a lot of ventilation and smoke alarms

Pro tip : Make the string length four fingers wide, because when you swing it, and pull it tight, it's will be a bit longer than expected, plus the string will stretch a little from being swung.

This is encouraging. I ordered teak shelves online thinking it would be reclaimed teak, but as it turns out, it was green wood. Disappointing, as I really don't want to contribute to deforestation. But the shelves are already built and the deed is done, so what are your thoughts on using this technique on green teakwood? Better not due to risk of cracks?
@MakerCuisineАй бұрын
Unfortunately i can't really say because i don't have experience with green wood using this technique. I would recommend doing a test on a small piece if you have the ability to.

Really cool build but for me I wouldn't feel comfortable with actually breaking the wood and then putting the other stuff the epoxy in it and expecting it to be just as strong later on when the strength of your chucks is obviously super important but no matter what great job and that was a lot of work and looks really interesting.

Step 1- like, check! Step 2- Subscribe, check! Step 3 Leave snarky comment, here we go: It's really a good thing that you didn't burn your house down with your cats and dog inside of it, because according to Google AI, it is a very bad idea to use a cooking oven for this purpose because it could catch on fire and/or split or warp the wood. Good to see that you are still alive, Cheers!

You might want to wait until the water cools down to add the lemon juice. Lemon juice is loaded with vitamin c which is easily damaged by heat which reduces the vitamin c content.

Hey no problem, i marinated them first so they can actually pickle, then i strained the liquid back into the pot so it can reduce and achieve the desired thickness.

Thank you very much, i really like it as an addition. It makes it really convenient.
So my suggestion to not have apple flavoured syrup is to pack the jars as tigjtly as you can with apple, dont remove the skins, only make as much liquid as you need....you can always top up with water, and if you are using good honey, dont boil it and waste all of those amazing aromas, put it in the jars first or in the liquid at the end.
@MakerCuisine Жыл бұрын
Good suggestions, i did need to adjust the ratios on my recipe but i was also trying not to buy a lot and have a lot left over. Thank you for your suggestions
@1Mutton1 Жыл бұрын
@@MakerCuisine thanks. I was a bit worried with the large volume you had....but we all have different tastes and we are all learning. Also, if you sterilize the jars....ie pour boiling water in them first, there is no reason they can't last for years properly sealed when hot....ie like pears and peaches.
