I absolutely love all cutlass's, I have owned at least 25 cutlasses when I was younger and they were very powerful machines and had a great body style and were very reliable, but I never owned a cutlass between the years of 64 to 67 they were very hard to find where I grew up in Philadelphia, but I absolutely love them all very much and thanks for sharing this video with me 😎👍

I'm not referring to real altereds like Wild Willies car....hell Garlits' had a wing mounted on top of his engine at the 63/64 Winternationals...I'm talking about keeping cars looking period correct and you can do that and still make them safe ....look at the difference between Gauscos Pure Hell and the witch doctor. You can also start with getting rid of the computers and throttle stops and doing Winged Express style burnouts like Mike Boyd did, a real showman and crowd pleaser....R.I.P Mike

A fuel altered is not simply a funny car chassis with a roadster body. Pure Hell is a fuel altered.

I agree 100% with your comment and the fellow that replied first. AA/FA cars were big in @ Tucson Dragway and Beeline Dragway in what's now Paradise Valley. Cars Like Pure Hell, Pure Heaven, Dave Hough's Nanook, Yellow Submarine and, of course, The Famous "Wild Willie Borsch" in the "Winged Express." Many others as well. To me, when it came time for the "Fuel Altered Nationals" at Tucson Dragway Me and a whole bunch of my Gear Head buddies would always make it to those meets. They were so wild and unpredictable that it seemed like 2000 H/P Mechanized Brahma Bull Riding! Especially when the last few rounds took place after sunset. Header flames and cars with sooo much torque that they seemed to want to go any way but straight. My best friend Tom was a Drag Racer through and through. His Bible was the weekly "Drag News". Tom's been gone for a few years now but, I always wished (with some regrets) that we didn't make a "Buddy Road Trip" to Bakersfield Ca. for the March Meet at Famoso. That would have made for some Epic memories! Thanks for uploading this very cool video.

I only see a few true period correct nostalgia fuel altereds without wings and my hats off to them.....the rest are nothing but funny cars without the bodies. It's a shame that more emphasis isn't on keeping with the period correct theme instead of just being posers....
