With such a variety of robots with varied functions and design differences , does that create operational gaps in using the robotsics by a doctor say transfering to a new hospital or who trained on a different system with a different layout ? The Telesurgery performed in Beiging from Rome , did they use the same robotic equiptment in both locations ? When a surgeon is acustom to one brand , a particular pedal location etc... Doesnt that create the danger of errors because after 3000 surgeries on the same equiptment I would think a surgeon on a new device may inadvertently hit the wrong control mechanism on a new device out of sheer habit Maybe im wrong.. Training and certification will be a nightmare. Someone may need to set a standard layout across all brands . 😁 Good luck with that...

Associates aren’t fired for incompetence. That’s the job security. Easier to get fired for being disliked or not conforming to the 20+ year legacy worker’s way of thinking. Diversity is more than race gender ethnicity, but differences in thought processes and ideas.

Private Equity and the greed of our government, politicians has literally DESTROYED the medical system. Hospitals have gone to crap. Nursing labor shortages is a crisis over the past decade. Doctors are stretched to work beyond unsafe workloads. There's no worse direct evil destructive force to the medical system than GREED ITSELF.

Private equity is terrible for healthcare, they are liars with predatory business practices. Steward healthcare run by Cerberus capital extracted almost 1 billion from Massachusetts and is now closing hospitals down across the state. Seems like it was a very 1 sided deal that happened.

Further updates are incredibly needed of this company that is sorely overlooked. Do they have an issue regarding liquidity past the 2nd half of '24? Sure. But do they have products that spank the current leader? YES! I see them either further raising funds via private sell, revealing that they already have pending orders once manufacturing is ramped up or they'll be a takeover target. Either way one can't lose holding shares this cheaply. Just my 2 cents. Please more updates/interviews!!

These people come across as crooks. PE are leeches and they will literally kill patients if they knew it could benefit their owners in a short time frame. They need to be regulated out of existence.

PE really needs to prove that they are creating value for the market, and not inserting themselves as rent seekers trying to drain equity from the hospital network. While most folks don't like hospitals, folks will hating having to get taxi'ed around in ambulances to different surgical providers even more. This is because moving a patient who is in critical need between addresses is risky, expensive, and very slow in the context of a medical emergency. Finally, many rural areas do not have surgical capacity outside of the hospital, so attempting to change behaviors by confining outpatient care to emergency rooms as these people suggest will only result in massive price increases for the patient and not a rush of development in rural surgical capacity. We already see this happening with many rural hospitals cutting family birth services; even though such services bring in $3 million to $5 million dollars in revenue per year. Telling a pregnant woman "go to the emergency room or drive two hours away" is not going to go over well and will certainly invite regulation that harms the long term value of the strategy.

Waste of research funding. Millions of CPAP users are using current designs perfectly well & only a minority can't get along with it which is more psychological than anatomical. Every time that cpap mask isn't fitted to the user, they're probably having apnoea events which affects their sleep & their health. Also, if someone, including a robot, put something on my face while I was asleep, I'd definitely wake up! Use AI to continuously learn about that particular user and adjust the algorithm accordingly instead. While most machines have good intelligence, it's not AI and there's a heap of improvements that could be made.

Hey Joe, we sort of started this conversation 6 months ago when I first started with Buro. This piece highlights for me a couple of things I think we can talk about. First, reducing the overall cost of surgical care by outsourcing to ambulatory care centers. The VA is going to be looking for structures to increase veteran care while reducing overall costs. Since I sat on the energy and ops side for 7 years, I can without hesitation say that the O&M budget at the VA is a huge drain on overall medical care to vets. So how could we package this model to the VA? Second, for my personal interests, these focused surgical centers seem to be increasing in my perception. My interest will always be energy in this space. No Doctor or manager is looking at energy as a large cost center when they need literal bodies in and bodies out as their revenue model. If PE consolidation is growing in this space, how do we get the right players together so I can teach or demonstrate to these groups how to connect the energy O&M to a more cost effective and better overall ESG component? I was a great piece…. I really liked it.
