No unfortunately. That would be like 5x more work if you could/did.

I assume you have done it with out removing the break pedal. Can you confirm this. This sounds like a less pain in the butt alternative.

@@enriquegonzalez6570 yes if you remove the plastic piece i mentioned then you can take it out without removing the brake pedal. you still do have to maneuver it around a little but its easier.

So If I can disconnect the black tube do I have to take off brake and gas pedal ?

It would be nice to know why he changed it. Mine vibrates while stopped in drive but when switched to neutral it's smooth again. I did not change mine but I am thinking this mount is the cause

​@TheMorelli3 Engine mounts are really only good for about 70k-100k miles. Yes, it can last longer or shorter, but if you experience alot of vibration in your steering wheel or see your engine vibrating alot when you look at it.. it's probably time to change all of your mounts. Changing just one mount will cause it to wear faster because the other mounts are not equally carrying a load like a new one will.

​@TheMorelli3 agree I have a 2016 kia soul and mine vibrates as well when stopped and I put it in neutral and nothing. I have changed the top passenger motor mount just recently. And read all of them need to be changed as well. But since I changed the top motor mount it vibrates even more.

@@jasonschannel1315 that's for sharing. Now I know what not to do. I was thinking the transmission mount at first because the key is when put in neutral it's smooth... Only in drive I can feel the vibration. Still not clear on the actual cause. My thinking is that the motor mount would vibrate regardless of being in drive or neutral especially when pressing the gas pedal in neutral. I noticed the idle doubles from 500 rpm to 1k when switching to neutral even when the engines hot.

@TheMorelli3 Gotcha mine only vibrates at stop and I feel the banging around when I pull out of my driveway because it's a dirt bumpy driveway and when I go over like dips in the road I can feel it. But at a stop it vibrates so bad I feel it even when my foot is on the brakes.

This is a pretty common practice on newer cars these days. Gone are the days of the real quick blower motor change. The Mazda 2 is like this, but with more steps. You have to start the job on the passenger side, then pull it out the driver side and twist/snap it into place. Brake pedal switch is required to be replaced on that job.

Same for my 2011

What step did you do that at? Before taking out pedals hopefully!

@@Cormamin I did it after taking out brake pedal. But you can do it in reverse order. Either way the brake pedal has to come out.

ME , TOO! hope it worked out for you. I am 62 year old woman and I love DIY and learning but this one looks really unpleasant. Determined to do it.

The real kicker for me now is getting the brake pedal re-installed. Just when you think you are in the home stretch!

How long did it take you

I've gone through 2 and now the 3rd is acting up. Have a 2011 Soul. Currently just shy of 150k miles.

Should only been a 10mm and 12mm sockets. Could vary by year but its not to difficult to determine once you get under there.

I just did this today on my 2013 KIA Soul. It was a pain if you don't have the right tools. I suggest magnet tip Philips screwdrivers ( stubby and 5" or 6"). 10mm socket for crash panel. 12mm deep well socket for brake pedal and gas pedal. Will need long extensions with universal to get to brake pedal nuts (5). I couldn't get the brake pedal out because part of the bracket was caught under gas pedal. (3) nuts on gas pedal. Three screws hold the ac motor. The magnetic tip screwdriver will prevent dropping and loosing screws. Getting the screws out wasn't to bad but putting them back was a real pain. There's not much room. I didn't have magnet tip screwdriver. Oh there's a plastic duct that you will need to remove. One screw holds it.

Just did this today on our 2010 Kia Soul and it was a pain even with the right tools ;-). For the 2010 Soul (!), it was two phillips head screws on the bottom to remove the crash panel. 12mm deep well socket for brake and gas pedals as Hombre describes, and there were only 2 nuts on the 2010 gas pedal. Of all the steps in the video, the easiest was getting the motor out once the screws were removed and harness was disconnected (based on the how it was described in the video, I was expecting more trouble). However, I couldn't get the new motor in without removing the gas pedal. I was pleasantly surprised when the blower started right up before I put everything back together. The three screws on the blower motor should have been the easiest part, but it's so hard to reach them up inside the center of the dash. Thanks to Heston for putting the video together and Hombre for his comments.

Remember that many parts in cars a designed for assembling together once and not disassembling. That's probably why, imo
