I really this method! I've seen and heard of horses tied to these posts and left to fight it out and that has ruined some good horses. But if a post is going to be used, this is a proper way to do it and can teach them to tie using this idea just be allowing them to give to pressure rather than pull against it. You can't just go out and do this tho, if you do not know how to read a horse's body language.
