That mouldy block marked Langwith, near the start was the Original Wentworth C Block - aka "WC/" also known as "Wentworth Toilet". I stayed there as an undergrad in the mid 80s for 2 years - once in WC/102 which was first floor, far right looking back over the bike racks towards the nucleus entrance. And next year, I took the same corridor, looking over the grass towards the lake. Back then at the bottom of the nuclear walkway ramp, was much more open - it led to the JCR and snack cafeteria (main dining hall was up to where the bar is now). Couple of pinball machines and 4 or so arcade games too, including the legendary Asteroids and Defender. Good times...

Seems to have improved a lot since the 1960s! 1966, I was In Langwith (now moved I believe), digs in 1967 (a private house the other side of the church) and Alcuin 1968-1969. Happy times!

The government cannot create wealth only redistributed it at the cost of liberty and great opportunity costs. If you want cheaper education then you must protest about the destruction of the currency though inflation and the theft of wealth in which the government presides over.

The tax payers have to subsidise you though taxation, which is theft, why should poor working class people pay education for middle class students against there will. If you want to address to problem of expensive education you must first ask yourself why is education becoming more expensive, well it is because the central banks though a policy of money printing and the government using that money to fund education causing demand pull inflation.

Here is my issue, you talk about education as a right, which it isn't, it is a service that you pay for , the means of how you pay for it via collective taxation or by a contractual transaction. Rights are things that don't have a value and can only be taken away from you, education doesn't fit that, but freedom of speech, freedom to protect yourself and freedom from tyranny are, as you are born with those things.
