does false and wood nettle have the same nutritional value as stinging? I bought 'stinging nettles' at a farmers' market, but since i don't see those big stingers, I'm thinking now it's "false" nettle. Sorry if addressed, way too may comments to look through..... THX

For anyone eating pheasant back (dryad's saddle) 1. Wash top of mushroom with water 2. Cut off hard edges 3. Scrape spongy like gills off of underside of mushrooms. 4. Chop up into chute like pieces and place in a bowl of water 5. Add salt or baking soda and give some stirs 6. Cook on pan and drain water as they dehydrate, cdump out access water 7. once dryed out, add butter and continue till crispv and pick your

This is why ecosystems and habitat is so important. I understand human progress, but when acres of land are developed, we loose so much. Wouldn't it be nice to leave some of the habitat in place while still building? Once it's gone, it's gone. Hoping to plant native flowers for our bees and butterflys to help support them.

If you like dry stinging nettle tea then try adding dry peppermint leaves with the mix. I go a little crazy and add a slice or two of ginger and a tiny bit of honey, it really turns into soup then lol

Don't eat white or silvery gray ones. Make sure they have a reddish tint and warts. There are brown ones (pantherina), but you have to know them. Never eat tiny buttons or you may make a mistake and eat the poison ones. You don't need to fuss about ibotenic acid. The acid in the stomach converts it into muscimol.

I can't believe there are people who are spreading stinging nettles and think its a good thing. It's like walking up to a patch of poison oak and thinking, wow wouldn't it be great if this was everywhere.

Here in Texas we call it bull nettle. The seed that it produces can be dried and eaten as well and if you have a compost pile for your gardening you can add bull nettle to it to speed up the decomposition process.

As a kid, i was a timboy, playing in the woods by a big dry creek every day. I ran bare legged through weeds all the time, some of which left little blisters and stung when I went through them. I called it stingweed, but being under big trees, it may have been wood nettle.

Makes me sad too when they spray...it not only kills the plant but kills the earth as well and all living things....test are showing that herbicides are impacting reproductive organs in men...making them less fertile...easier and better to dig them out ..there is even a special tool for the job..me I like them..I used to be a chemical gardener but after a little understanding I realised how wrong it is...anyway thanks for this.

I've been using birch polypore tincture for a while. It's chalked full of beta-glucans, polysaccharides, and Betulinic acid. It gets the acid from the Birch wood. It is technically the first known medicine.

Great video. The storm coming in at the end made me feel all cozy too lol. My lawn has loads of dandelions. I tried for years to get my nan to love dandelions. She often picked or poisoned them. But never used them. The are my favourite flower. When I tell people that, they probably think I'm weird. Guess they probably wouldnt be wrong tbh haha.
