Usually if you are an “internal” resource, you have your calendars aligned with the organization. I.e annual site visit, monthly event spot check, etc. In my career life as a corp internal employee, the latest i went home bec of work is 9pm. For external resource like firms and esp in financial audits, companies have external law/regulatory timelines to follow hence the “audit season”. Also factors are: year end/month end/ quarterly closures, inventory checks, etc. I do have friends who used to stay in the office overnight when they were at the entry level. Not sure though if the new WFH concept is applied to them now. Basically, it depends on your focus area and target clients. That’s why it is common that in both functions there are different teams working on different parts of audit and compliance. Sometimes different client groups as well. It’s best to set these expectations during interview or before you sign in. :)

Do you have any tips for entry level employees to be able to succeed in this line of work given that there are a lot of legal, regulatory and internal policies to understand and remember? I used to work in credit risk and I found myself having difficulties in interpreting policies and keeping them in mind.

@@themhayonnaise Thank you, mahal rin kase ang CAMs exam nasa $ 1,989.00, sa peso eh 111,126.42 pesos xa. Kaya dapat talaga kapag mag take nito eh todo review para hindi sayang bayad. At dapat may 40 points ka sa calculator nila bago ka makapag take nito.
