Habe the same issue my car dies when i come to a stop but then it wont start no matter what i try. It cranks 100% no engine lights or anything. It just wont start and if i leave it for half an hour it starts like nothing ever happend...... Ive replaced the battery, battery terminals, new starter, new ignition coils, new spark plugs and serviced it and still it dies..... Next i want to try is fuel pump and filter or ghe crank sensor but dont want to spend more money if it wont help

The thing your calling collector separates think of 2 bowls stacked together, at the motor end oh the collector you'll see a lil, look close and you'll see its 2 lips. With a fine thin flat screw driver you have to get it between the lips. Sometimes rotating it around you find a slight gap where it's easier to start. Work it off and you'll get to your fan blade then you'll figure out the rest

The commutators are worn uneven,I put a drill machine on one end and takes a good file while turning on commutators ,from there after the file use 320 grit wet sand paper the take a fine wet sand paper from 1000 to 2000 grit hope it works fine for you😊
