Cracking video buddy and some lovely fish. Had some nice fish along that stretch myself …… Noticed a comment about you wading and casting to the other bank which is owned by another Fishing club……. Well I don’t wade but I have fished from my Leeds bank side and casted over the other side …. Is that wrong aswell do you know ??? I wouldn’t if other fishermen are there but if the other bank is clear I can’t see any problem at all ….. just wondering that’s all or is it just when your in the river ??? Theirs some crazy rules and some are a load of bollox if you ask me …. I’ve been fishing for over 40 years and never yet have I upset a fellow angler …. Great video as said and well done lads … all the best 😁👍🎣

I was at cundal fishing some years ago ….. got there with my dad at 6.45 … we were just sorting our gear out and getting set up for a days fishing and this guy came down and said “ I was going to fish there mate “ …. “ you might be better off going further downstream as it’s better down there “ …… I looked at my old man and said very nicely “ well I’m sorry I got here before you did but hope you have a great days fishing on the better pegs downstream “ ….. He then just walked off muttering to himself and me and dad were in stitches 😂😂😂….. Honestly it’s a weird and wonderful world we live in ain’t it 😳😳🤔🤔 But anyways … yeah might see you there one time and keep the videos coming and all the best toy you and yours 👍👍😁😁🎣🎣

Welcome to 'wading wars'(It's been going on down there for years). Strictly speaking you need BCAA and Leeds DASA books to do what you did. The rights to fish only extend to half way across the river. You also came very close to fishing in Sheephills water....and they go mental. I'm a BCAA member and often find anglers from leeds and sheephills wading across over halfway....I just fish somewhere else. All the best runs below the island are on the BCAA side all the way down to Cod Beck.
@ellis3502 ай бұрын
Hi Steve, in this video we were definitely stood no further than mid river and did not fish past the fence line into Sheephills stretch. I have seen your comment on the other video and I was guilty of casting past mid river despite me being stood on the mid river line. I intend to join BACC next season as well as Leeds. Tight lines.

Im not getting in to tit for tat but your comment you need to be a membef is gullible beyond belief , not only do rivers rarely get policed anymore but you still think we live in times where the average scroats and illegals actually care about rules These videos are about people wanting to record their days ,i get that i do it , i just dont then advertise it to everyone its for me and my famoly and mates memories
@andrewbogan17513 ай бұрын
Couldn't agree more ,rivers are in right state generally ,and few go to places left , all people do is advertise sections of river to poach Also wherever you likely to catch barbel I'd beef gear up a bit , will make no difference to bites on that stretch , and will result in less breakages, exhausted fish ,and line and hooks in snags and bushes . Luckily the big barrel you called at end which was actually really small was landed and handled well ,we're you on barbless hooks ,that hook took bit force to get out , other than that well done , but people don't need to know where you are ,and people think club waters are safe from poaching ,they actually more at risk
@ellis3503 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comments and taken on board. I will certainly think about video titles in future. It was an oversight and I think it was a barbed hook/micro barbed and was surprised myself when taking the hook out. Tight lines.

Cracking spot that buddy ….. some lovely fish in the Swale and fished along that stretch on many occasions …. Probably seen you there at some point if you’ve been a member for a while ……. My old man loves fishing there though his bad knees hinder him more these days… Just seen the other comments and I too am looking for some new waders and them ones you mention look spot on although pricey you get what you pay for sometimes …. Also a mention about making videos and showing people where to fish. Quite a few people do it on KZbin though I haven’t ever myself …. I’ve come across people who are non members and people will take risks and don’t give a shite if it’s club water or not …. You get that everywhere and been going on for decades …. Well before KZbin videos …. It’s sad how these people will spend money on a night out but not for a year subscription to fish these amazing waters … just amazes me!!!! ….. we come in all shapes and forms … love the video …. All the best and some lovely fish caught 🎣😉

@@ellis350 Except you were fishing the BCAA water...which means 'theft of fishing rights'.
@ellis3502 ай бұрын
@@stevewilliams5428 as far as I understand it you can be stood in the middle of the river (as I am between the flow from either side of the island) and then cast as close to the BACC bank as I wish. There was nobody else fishing there. If there was then out of etiquette I would not have. If I was on the Leeds bank, I can cast to the overhanging trees on the BACC side. I did think it was a grey area but now I have done my research, I was not thieving fishing rights.
@stevewilliams54282 ай бұрын
@@ellis350 Well you can't. The fishing rights extend to the middle of the river. It makes no difference where you are standing. Once you get past the island all the good fish holding runs are on the BCAA side. It gets a little wearing making the effort to go down there fishing, to find LDASA and sheephills 'anglers' fishing across the river into BCAA swims. If you get a BCAA book(there's no access for non-members as it's private land) you will see what I mean. It's been going on for years. I've caught LDASA members wading on the BCAA side of the island before which is pretty rude and blatant. It doesn't matter if no one is there when you start fishing... You are denying the right of a BCAA member to fish the swim and 'spoiling' it for anyone who comes along later.Taking or destroying fish 2(1)Subject to sub-paragraph (2) below, a person who unlawfully takes or destroys, or attempts to take or destroy, any fish in water which is private property or in which there is any private right of fishery shall on summary conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty pounds or, for an offence committed after a previous conviction of an offence under this sub-paragraph, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or to a fine not exceeding one hundred pounds or to both. (2)Subparagraph (1) above shall not apply to taking or destroying fish by angling in the daytime (that is to say, in the period beginning one hour before sunrise and ending one hour after sunset); but a person who by angling in the daytime unlawfully takes or destroys, or attempts to take or destroy, any fish in water which is private property or in which there is any private right of fishery shall on summary conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding twenty pounds. (3)The court by which a person is convicted of an offence under this paragraph may order the forfeiture of anything which, at the time of the offence, he had with him for use for taking or destroying fish. (4)Any person may arrest without warrant anyone who is, or whom he, with reasonable cause, suspects to be, committing an offence under sub-paragraph (1) above, and may seize from any person who is, or whom he, with reasonable cause, suspects to be, committing any offence under this paragraph anything which on that person's conviction of the offence would be liable to be forfeited under sub-paragraph (3) above.
