I have no problem with them Banning those large speakers. Put portable ones used at a moderate to low volume should be allowed in state rooms. I'm not going to use headphones in my own stateroom. Goodbye Carnival.

They are Banning speakers so others can hear announcements. Because everyone must hear announcements... except for the 50% who must wear headphones now...😅😅😅

I just got off a carnival cruise 3 weeks ago. I'm platinum status. I definitely noticed the cut backs and was not happy about it. I won't be cruising with Carnival in a while unless they send me a steal of a deal. So yes, they are definitely pushing me away. I'm getting ready to book a Virgin Voyage and look to book my first cruise on RC.

I understand why with the speakers but it is not fair to people who don’t blast their music.

We are platinum on Carnival and have been cruising with Royal Caribbean a lot the last 2 years. We still like Carnival but the cut backs are a big deal. Carnivals buffet pals compared to RR. Also RR offers free drinks when you reach 75 days 4 drinks a day, 75 days on Carnival is platinum level and you receive 1 free drink per cruise. Carnival needs to stop with the cut backs.

I don’t like that idea of having the pizza at the buffet area.

I'm happy about this too. People need to use their headphones. The other annoyance is the people that insist on putting their phone on speaker while doing facetime and blasting the sound of their grandchildren/family screaming through their phone speakers during dinner. Not sure how they're going to address that. People have lost all sense of respect of others.

I went on my first cruise last year and while in the hot tub, some young punk thought we all wanted to hear his janky-ass music. Naw fam, not everyone here came for that. Bring headphones. Not everyone likes what you like.

Our totally go for no smoking at all on cruise ships it would definitely save me billions and millions of dollars in medical expenses save me time from not visiting hospitals too often

I think banning for public spaces is fine but in the cabin nah.

But they sell them on the ship .. make no sense… I understand why . But some people are just so respectful to people around them .. NOT !!!!

I'm cool with them banning them on the ship, but you should be able to get them while your in port.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually understand this ban! This new generation is so entitled that they think “volume control” is just a suggestion. It’s like they believe loud music and foul language are essential food groups-who knew “bass” was a dietary requirement?

I don’t see why anyone would need speakers every cell phone plays music plenty loud enough to put on your desk in your cabin or on your table on your deck or next to you on the beach. I’ve encountered a couple people who think they can take their speakers up onto the deck, where everyone’s listening to the ship music or band and they think they can just listen to their own music out loud. There are so many earbuds you can use if you want to listen to your music in your ear , loud. These people are probably the same idiots that want to hold the loudspeaker phone conversation in the middle of everyone.

I remove my gratuities and pay the service as I go. Tips are for service not just because. I want my room steward and bartender and wait staff to get the tip for their good service. I hear to often they are not getting the pre pay money

To be honest, it's probably about time that cruise lines started to ban bluetooth speakers. There's so much entertainment on the ship that I don't really think you need to have your own sound system in your cabin. I've been on ships before where the music next door was so loud that the speakers may aswell have been in my room. An example of some spoiling it for everyone, but I'm happy to see this move from Carnival!

Last couple of cruises, I was shocked by how loud these speakers have become. In one instance, they were wheeling it around in a baby carriage as the baby. Their music was not family friendly, relaxing, or something that many would enjoy. I've been a lifelong fan of heavy metal but smart enough to know a public common area isn't the place to make 100s listen to Motorhead, Megadeth, and Slayer at max volume. It's called respect, and many need the rule because they dont have any without it.

I like the idea of no one on the ship being able to blast music in public areas, but I’m sad to not be able to play some music in my cabin or balcony or bringing it to my excursions whatever they might be.

Good! I don't want to deal with noisy speakers when I get to go on a cruise! We pay thousands of dollars for to enjoy a vacation away from everything and then they want to play loud music on the balcony and ruin my morning. NOPE! Glad they banned them. This is super great!

There is a direct correlation between the louder the music, the crappier it is.

It's a lame decision and it's lazy on Carnival's part. Ban the use of speakers outside of the rooms and impose a decibel level but punishing everyone for the action of the few who are in breach is wack. I only play my speaker in my room and I check to see if it's audible outside of my room. Music can be played on phones too nowadays Carnival, and loudly at that. Are you banning those next?!

On two separate Carnival cruises I went on, there were people in their staterooms BLASTING music. People are even more disrespectful and inconsiderate of others now post-pandemic than ever before. I'm glad they are preventing Bluetooth speakers and I hope all other cruise lines follow suit.

Loud speakers on balconies ruined it for everyone. Even if your playlist was the best ever. Now we will be forced to listen to the ocean waves again. Darn. ;)

I see a lot of comments that said that they're glad for taking away the use of Blue tube no that is not cool that is not good to ban everyone that abiding by the rules punish the one that's not abiding by the rule and let us move on with our life that is what's wrong with this woke generation today just take everything because of one ignorant disrespectful person two or three not good what has happened to sense of reasoning!!!
