How long does it take to sag again, cause now your skin is holding so much more weight?
@JasonMartinMD
@JasonMartinMD 17 сағат бұрын
It really depends on the patient, age, skin integrity, weight balance, etc, will all play a role in how long the results of a breast lift last. Surgical lifting does not stop future aging or the effects of gravity :) Most women will have at least 10-20 years in between breast lifts with augmentation.

What food and fluids should be avoided before surgery? heard Ginger is one of them. And heard eating pineapple and taking aminca for brushing and swelling. Is beneficial, also taking bromeline supplements. What are your recommendations?

Hi there, you’re fun to watch. I have been the perfect candidate since I was 11. I have surgery August 20 so less than two weeks ago and I’m healing well. . No hospital stay⏬no drains,,,Im 55, Jennifer Lopez 55. it done f my saddlebags since I was 11. (I should have listened to my coach and played Catcher instead of Third Base;) Bottom line, if you have strong muscles, then you’re probably going to heal quicker. Oh, my right saddlebag is still there more than I’d like! I understand I signed the document …curious if you think I should tell my surgeon and ask for a free fix ? He’s a high school friend of my finance

Hi Jenny, congratulations on your recent surgery and fast recovery! We recommned waiting at least 6 months (and up to 12 months) before considering a touch up. Swelling immediately after surgery can by asymetrical and will resolve with time. Most surgeons will offer touch ups at a very reasonable 'touch up' fee.

Can a lipo 360 be done with a tummy tuck? The lipo is for the bra fat on both sides, upper back & flanks?
@JasonMartinMD
@JasonMartinMD 2 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! We will be answering your question on our next Q&A episode! Yes, you can combine liposuction on the braline, flanks, and back with a tummy tuck. We almost always include flank liposuction with our tummy tucks (it's a rare patient who does not need a little flank lipo) and adding additional liposuction is a great way to combine your downtime and recovery.

Hi, so my question is this; since aging causes us to absorb less nutrients from our food, then I would actually benefit from supplementing with Taurine. Would this be a true assumption?
@JasonMartinMD
@JasonMartinMD 2 күн бұрын
Yes, Sheila! I love the way you think! As we age our bodies tend to benefit from more support. One of the main things I loved about this study was that it was performed on middleaged mice. While we are not mice it may still be beneficial for middleaged (and beyond) humans to add taurine as well.

So I heard you say in this episode that the best result will be maybe a full cup size at best. At my heaviest, I was 265 pounds with a small C/full B cup size and now I’m 140 pounds with a decent B cup. While I don’t mind the current size too much or the minimal droopiness I have while standing up straight, when I lean forward I get the ball in a sock situation. I’m saving up money for a full extended tummy tuck after just having my arms done this August. Would adding a lift and a fat transfer to my breasts be a good option for me if I just want to maintain a full B or C cup? My fear would be getting a lift and ending up with an A cup. Thanks for your time and I love the show!
@JasonMartinMD
@JasonMartinMD Ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! Yes, a lift with fat tranfer is an amazing option to reposition the nipple/areola and add some upperpole fullness. The way we do our lifts does not, in most cases, reduce the breast size as we rotate the existing tissue internally to support the breast. You will love your breast lift!

Hi Amy and Dr. Martin. Thanks for answering our questions. The SIBO comment was from me. To complete my question, I should add that I would like to know more about SIBO and histamine intolerance, please. About 20 years ago a dermatologist prescribed me with a very long period (30 days or so) of Doxycycline for my acne. Shortly afterwards I got these horrible itchy hives all over my body which would come and go. I didn’t know the connection at the time. After seeing several allergy doctors and many different allergy tests, I was diagnosed with chorionic idiopathic urticaria. I have been taking antihistamines daily for nearly 20 years now. In the meantime, I always had GI problems (mostly bloating). To the point where I had to get a secondary TT because of how large my abdomen looked even after a TT. Now I’m finally making the connection and have scheduled an appointment to see a GI specialist. I would love to know more about this condition (SIBO and histamine intolerance) from a nutritional therapist point of view. Thank you!

I would discuss your concerns with your internist and surgeon. It's very possible your BMI is artificially elevated due to your large breasts. If you have been medically cleared for surgery, you should be good to go!

Hi Amy and Dr. Martin! I am the caller from Nashville :-) My name is Kenda. I had RNY surgery about two years ago and am maintaining a 135 lb weight loss. The surgery that I am planning next is a bra line back lift. I am almost six mos post-op from the extended tummy tuck and brachioplasty, and am scheduled for the back lift in three mos. I had a wonderful plastic surgeon and am thrilled with my results- especially the arms. Wearing short sleeves for the first time in my life. I am a NP and try to educate my patients about the importance of making sure that they go to a board certified plastic surgeon for procedures. Thanks so much for answering my questions!

Hi there. Thank you so very much for these videos. I have a question for your next Q&A (please & thank you). I watch many surgeons on social media. I am searching for ways to improve my aging face after a very significant weight loss. I was looking into sculptra but find that many of the doctors I watch give very different takes on whether one can have sculptra and still have a facelift later in life. It seems very controversial and I just want an unbiased answer. If I was to use an ultra on my temples and in front of the ears (cheek area) - would that make a face lift hard for me in the future? Thank you endlessly!

How obese should one be to not go for a reduction?
@JasonMartinMD

Thank you for watching! Most surgeons will require that you have a BMI under 30 to proceed with surgery. There may be some wiggle room there based on the size of your breasts as very large breasts may skew the BMI scale.
