You need to notify Wikipedia of this. They have had the facts wrong about the world altitude record for hang gliding for decades. Gerald Albiston falsely claimed the world record many years ago, and it’s a lie.

Excellent. I trained on tow hamg gliders back in the early 80s. I'm getting back into towed flight with paragliding. Your system is what I'll use. I'm in the Seattle area and will post videos when available. Best regards

Quantum 15 Operator's version 10 Page 35, top paragraph section 6 says front strut should be fitted with cutaway facing FORWARD. I believe Manual is wrong and that you, Mark, are correct, and it should face the pylon.
@125brat6 ай бұрын
That's how mine has been rigged for the last 15 years and it's never been picked up on the annual permit inspection. Why would there be a bevelled cutaway at the end of the tube unless it is to provide clearance for the pylon?

The only info in Google is as follows 11,800 m Judy Leden (GBR) holds the altitude record for a balloon-launched hang glider: 11,800 m (38,800 ft) at Wadi Rum, Jordan on 25 October 1994. en.m.wikipedia.org › wiki

Funny. Over center catch was already loose and ready to be pulled out. Hopefully didn't fly like that. Good vid, I could of used it a few years ago.

Fantastic presentation, Thanks. I'm here to brush up my old and very rusty skills and found this ground school extremely helpful and very well done despite the somewhat unnatural environment to camera. Top job Mark and best of luck to all at Airways Airsports.

The center of pressure is a single point. Not a lift vector. Its relative even when the wing has no attack angle. You get a lift vector dependent on the attack angle. Center of pressure is where all the forces converge.
@ericlarue80104 жыл бұрын
When you increase attack, air above advances, while air below retards. You get lift when you deflect air. You don't get lift unless you defect air.
