Haha, a plumber pretending to know the causes of heart disease? Did he take nutrition classes in medical school? Does he conduct studies on nutrition and exercise? He’s just a plumber, right?

My doctor measured my BP once and gave me meds at 55 years old. They made me feel dizzy so I stopped taking them. Got a cuff, changed my diet (whole food plant based), lost weight and now my RESTING BP is between 103/68 to 118 / 75 Looking back, I bet I ran up the stairs for my doctors appointment. But the fact that he prescribed drugs on one reading (it was 14x/xx) is wrong.

Many years ago I totally cut off all sugars from my diet, one day while driving I passed out suddenly in front of a hospital, when I woke up the doc said you had hypoglycaemia attack and were lucky you braked right outside the hospital and lost consciousness- Eating sugars is important !
@alanj99782 күн бұрын
A healthy person not taking any medication has no use for sugar, ever. Sugar is a poison.

The lady should be a little more knowledgeable, otherwise the questions will always be very general and will never challenge the guests. This doctor stated so many misinformation, that is very bad and not helpful. Science has changed and the channel is not helping
@ccamire2 күн бұрын
This doctor is obviously old school to protect his salary. When he says that most people are genetically sick with CVD, totally wrong. There are no scientific articles that shows that. The vast majority of CVD diseases are nutrition. FH people have high cholesterol but they live longer than most people UNLESS they have prothrombin deficiency. No wonder people take statin without real need. Statin trials showed that you can live 5 days longer after using the drug for 5 yrs. Nobody talk about the impact on miztochondria and muscle losses.

5.8 is not diabetes. Not all people ,even if you are fasting, have 4.8 or 5 A1C. Pre - diabete is not a problem , 6.5 A1c begins to be a problem. I Fast 18:6 on average with 2 meals a day for 3 years , my A1C is 5.7 , so i am pre-dispose to high Glucose it seems , i have to pay attention to my weight and that's what i am doing , nutrition + exercice. So let's not overdo it . Even a 99 Glucose in the morning is not dangerous.
@BillyBoy663 күн бұрын
You are incorrect. Your criteria is based on the bell curve of a sick, metabolically unhealthy public. There is NO such thing as "pre-diabetes". If you get classified as pre-diabetic then you are already diabetic. The label of "pre-diabetic" is misleading. A1C levels of 5.7 - 6.1 should be labeled level 1 diabetes. Anything higher, you are full-blown diabetic and should be labeled level 2. A healthy A1C is 4.5 - 5.6. This is an undeniable fact.

Gain more muscle for the glucose to be stored as muscle glycogen. I eat 500g of carbs a day across 3 meals as well as 300 protein and 100 fat. Muscle chews it all up
@Knowledge-b6o16 сағат бұрын
NOT TRUE!! A fasting glucose of 99 is terrible and an A1C of 5.7 is pre-diabetes. Don’t kid yourself.

Thank you for an informative podcast. What a time to be alive. So much information to take in, so many contradicting sides, and of course, that comes with so much conflict, pushback and opposing views. I have consumed a lot of information from all sides of diet camps, and all i conclude for self is 'how much nutrition excellence am i getting for my calories. And am i doing it in a way that reduces risk of ailments and quality of life down the line. Is there a trade off so costly? ' Good luck to everyone

Emily, i appreciate what you are trying to do, but your vocal fry is killing me... almost as bad as everyone's hand waving and sped up yada yada pace in the middle of an otherwise well cadenced thought expression. I know this is a book sale and some of the advice is supported but some is not and huge chunks of the bigger picture are missing from the discussion.
