Utumno is not in Valinor and Melkor was imprisoned in the Halls of Mandos, not put through the Door of Night. Melkor killed the trees after his imprisonment ended, the Valar did not attack Melkor afterward, and the War of Wrath hundreds of years later is when Melkor was defeated/exiled. The trees also did not grow back.
