A very Scottish composition. You can almost hear the mournful sound of a bagpipe. I'm not a fan of John Cage but his lovely In a Landscape and this piece remind me of one for the other.

The piano/flute combination works really well. Listening to this, my imagination conjures up images of birds flying around the trees in the Garden of Paradise (wherever that may be). A world of calm; a moment of peace. Beautiful.

I’d not heard of this song until I saw an episode of Michael Portillo’s train journey through Scotland, and it absolutely haunted me. It was my favourite song on Spotify in 2023. I love Adrian’s interpretation, particularly with the sea views in the picture windows. Thank you, Adrian for this wonderful video. 🦘🦘🇦🇺🇦🇺

Adrian you need to start charging a fiver admission charge for your Concerts! And do them in the AFTERNOONs so people can be spontaneous. (Ie see in the morning you are in Lancaster and go in the Afternoon! As you will know Lancaster with its University has a thriving Music culture. I've just missed the Music week here. (BLAST and Botheration!) H x

Thank you Mário. All the filming, inside and out, took place at Crear Studios - it’s on the west coast of Scotland, near Kilberry. You can see the island of Jura from their private beach. It was very inspirational and a real find!

Hi Eileen, I’ve never made a commercial recording of this piece - it is just this version here on KZbin. I have made many recording of my own pieces which you might enjoy. For example The Misty Isle (from Sky Blue Piano), which bears similarities to this piece. There is a video for it here on KZbin, and you can also stream it on Spotify and Apple Music. Hope you enjoy it.
