I saw Victoria speak within a month of moving to Middle Tennessee and was floored by how the story unfolded. Instant fan! Sharing the Uncle Nearest story when I am out of town gives me great pride. It is more than whiskey.

On March 14, 2023, I ordered an Old Fashioned at the Oak Bar at Drusie & Darr in the Hermitage Hotel in Nashville 🥃. Mickey was the legendary libationist on duty that afternoon and I left the choice of spirit to him. He selected Uncle Nearest 1853. Hands down it was one of the finest cocktails I've ever had. I savored it knowing it would be a long time before I had another one that was going to be that damn good!

I am Brazilian from the state of Bahia, I discovered the story of Nathan Green, through my wife, in a post by the Brazilian artist André D'Lucca from the state of Mato Grosso on his account @atorandredlucca, where he talks about racial themes, about pioneering and relevance of black people. keeping its history alive. It is very important to see yourself represented in success stories. I started researching and discovered Uncle Nearest, occupying spaces of power. Congratulations .

Our family visited the Nearest Green Distillery last summer. When Jeffrey Wright came on the scene to tell this story, our jaws just dropped and soon we were in tears hearing his voice tell this heartwarming story of Nearest Green. Applause, Applause, to Fawn Weaver and her team for choosing the perfect person to help share this truth!!! One of our families favorite summer vacations. So glad we were able to visit, tour the grounds and learn so much more of this incredible piece of American history.

One of the worst liquors on the market. Should sell for a quarter of its current price. Shame they try to associate this with Jack Daniels. Low life scoundrels.

Please do not forget Lynchburg is less than an hour’s drive from the birthplace of the Klan. Just a couple counties over in Pulaski, TN. Yes, Nathan Green and Jack developed a relationship that endures today AT THE SAME EXACT TIME and PLACE in our Nation’s history that birthed some of the finest whiskey in the world and one of the most evil organizations ever. We all have choices. Choose wisely. Just a thought from the old, white southern guy from Tennessee. Treat your fellow members of the human race right. They might be compelled to reciprocate.

It was just a cash grab, it's rebottled stuff that's $8 a bottle. They just marked it up and marketed to BLM and everyone who hates white people. You got played homie.

This is my family. The black slave Jack Daniels speaks of is my relative. He taught Jack Daniels the process in Lincoln County, TN because the distillery was on the land where my family were slaves in Shelbyville. And the process is called “Uncle Nearest”(Fayetteville, TN)named after my family. If you go to Fayetteville, TN you can take the tour.
