Figured this out by accident as a kid. I spent hours on it. Tried just going to the location and seeing if anything was there, nothing. Eventually I gave up on it for the time being and took a break. Just so happened to close my DS on the map screen as intended. I was real surprised when I came back an hour later.

one of the reasons why I loved Phantom Hourglass. Was stuck on this for a long time then closed my DS to take a break and heard a sound
@Hambs2327 күн бұрын
Not as intuitive as with the original hardware, but at least it's not a softlock lol Phantom Hourglass used the DS' functions to their fullest and didn't feel like a tech demo. From drawing on maps, to yelling or blowing on the mic and even closing and opening the console like in here. It transformed the menus and the console into extensions of its puzzles. Personal story, but it's the first game I ever saw on the DS. I was like "There's a new Zelda? And you can draw the Boomerang's path!?". A month later and I would get the portable that would accompany me for years, or 1 and a half decade if you include the 3DS with R4 for DS games. Amazing console, and really good game.
@emdot9727 күн бұрын
@@Hambs23 I'm a few dungeons in now and definitely agree the use of the DS features is excellent (though using them on emulator is a bit clunky). Amazing how long the DS (and 3DS) were around for in total, the library of games on them was definitely stellar
@Hambs2327 күн бұрын
@@emdot97 Granted, there's a LOT of shovelware in there. But there were also some genuinely good experiences if you dig enough. Hope you're having fun with PH, that was deffinitely a highlight on the DS for me.

I remember this puzzle so much as a kid. Could never figure out how to solve it. Tried for like an hour, decided to take a break and get a snack to help clear my head. Came back like 10 minutes later to find out closing the console was the answer. Still one of my favorite gaming memories.

1:15 as a chien pao enjoyer I don't know where you got the idea of ice fighting? All the treasures are part dark because they're the embodiment of hatred from dead people, encased in local rubble (hence, treasures of ruin, or ruinous quartet) Not trying to be rude btw i just don't know why you thought chien pao was fighting? Unless it's just. The sacred sword thing. Which I guess makes sense
@emdot978 ай бұрын
It probably is Sacred Sword and the fact that hitting it with fighting type is 4x effective.. I think both of those just put fighting type into my head when thinking about Chien Pao
