How do you determine when play has stopped and you have a winner? I want to play this as an activity in an Assisted living facility. I made small cardboard box dice. I want a winner as I hv small prizes. So, would I just determine best two out of three for example?

Wisconsin native here. Is this a house rules that no ace is required to hold dice? Everywhere I've played there has to be one ace to hold/farm. In the example the second shake (excluding farming) would still be 43 in 2.

Score is (Number of dice)/Dice face. So in the first example they rolled a 23 on shake one; then farmed/shook and got 2 aces making 23 a 43 (in 2). In the second example he had a 32 or a 26. Then farmed on his second shake, and got 2 aces for 46 (4 dice, value 6) in 2.

I have been playing this game for money every weekend for like 10 years. we added other ways to win. we have the full house, you have to re-ante to win you would have to have to get a 2 of a kind, and 3 of a kind. you can also win by getting 5 of a kind but the rest of the players dont get to roll.

I am visually paired visually impaired excuse me and I have a game on my phone called dice world and I thank you for showing me how to play Threes because I did not know how to play it but do to your very Vivid description and telling of all the rules I think I can do very good at it now

Thanks for the vid. I hadn’t realized that you have to roll both remaining dice after getting a 6-5-4 vs keeping one and rolling the last one by itself. We play a version if the first roller gets 6-5-4 and let’s say a 6-5 in second roll, and stops then all the other players have to tie or beat 11 in only 2 rolls. Or even in 1 roll if the first players only uses 1 roll.

How do you play for money (let's say, nickels)?

At the start of every new round every player puts in a nickel or whatever your playing with. Winner of the round gets the pot. We use quarters and if the game ends in a tie everyone puts in another quarter. We’ve had pots up to $40 with four people playing lol

Yes you re roll. You can choose to have the 2 people who tied re roll or the table of people playing can. Your choice on that. The person who tied is the one who rolls first

If I roll four sixes into and the second player gets four sixes in one roll does he win or does he have to beat the hand?

(2y later lol). Opponent wins. If you shook 46 in 2, and they shook 46 in 1; they win. The opponent does have the extra shake, so they could decide to roll the remaining dice (unless there's a no farming rule) to try for a 56 in 2.

So let’s say on the first roll you get 2 - 3s. You take both di, does that mean you only have 3 rolls left? Or you still have 4? - and for the high version of the game, how come you didn’t just take the 2 6s and the 3?

IzAwetastic yes you only have three rolls left. If you roll a three you have to take the three no matter what. If you roll more than one three you have to take all threes rolled. If you don’t roll a three you want to take the highest dice but you are only allowed to take one dice

There’s another similar and simple game that uses five dice You try to score points by rolling either a 1 or a 5. 1s are worth 100 points and 5s are worth 50. If you roll no 1s or 5s your turn is over. If you do roll some you put them to the side and then decide if you want to roll again. If you choose to end your turn you can keep the points you rolled, but if you choose to roll again and you *dont* roll a 1 or 5 then your turn is over and you lose the points that you put off to the side. So if you roll 1, 2, 2, 4, and 6 you scored 100 points and can roll again. If you choose to roll again you’ll now be rolling only four dice since the 1 you rolled has been placed to the side. Now you roll 2, 5, 5, and 6. Those two 5s are worth 50 each. You now have 100+50+50 points to cash in. If you choose to roll again you’ll only be rolling two dice so your odds of rolling a 1 or 5 have gone down. If you risk it, roll again, and roll 3 and 4 you lose all those points you had earned. So you just set a score limit and keep track of everyone’s score as you go. Also, if you roll three-of-a-kind of any number you get bonus points equal to that number times 100. If you roll a straight (either 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 OR 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) it’s worth 1,000 points. And you can add or change rules however you like

PabloCruise91 because a three was rolled and threes equal zero. And yes you are required to take one dice per roll

You have to keep AT LEAST one die per roll. You could roll and keep all five, or you could roll five times. In threes away low, it would have been a good play to keep the one, but since threes equal zero you could be aggressive and roll again for threes. In regards to his choice, he could have kept the one, but for the sake of the video he rolled again.
