Funny how they dont show any of the surrounding. Missles going of, people running around in terror, thats high ratings stuff you want to show but yet dont film any of it. Hmmmm wonder why.

Legendary is a perfect description! We have watched the whole series 3 times and it's still the most hysterical scene in the show! 😂

I was today years old when I learned that none other than the OG Pixarman himself, JOHN RATZENBERGER, portrayed Cliff.

I'd love to know what happened earlier in the shift/game. I'm neither a Caps nor an Ovechkin fan, but Danny Briere was a prick who constantly used his stick like a weapon and never dropped his gloves. It wouldn't surprise me if he had speared Ovechkin earlier in the game or something.

Apparently, John Ratzenberger (Cliff Clavin) is a very committed 'method actor', and he demanded that his reactions to being shocked be completely real and not faked.. So for this scene, he had electrodes wired to his testicles, and every time the remote was triggered, he received voltage to those tender bits that made him react as he did in the scene. In an interview years later, Ted Danson said "Well, I loved John as a fellow actor, but it got a little weird when he did that sh*t". Ironically, Ratezenberger died soon thereafter in a violent thunderstorm.

Cliff is correct about the USPS creed. It was an inscription on the NYC General Post Office Building, quoting Herodotus, describing the courier service of the Persian Empire: "It is said that as many days as there are in the whole journey, so many are the men and horses that stand along the road, each horse and man at the interval of a day’s journey; and these are stayed neither by snow nor rain nor heat nor darkness from accomplishing their appointed course with all speed."

One of the best scenes ever on Cheers, the ending to the episode was just as funny. Someone in the bar got hold of the button and was shocking Cliff. It ended with an old guy at the bar who says, " Dance Mailman!"

My all time favorite show. John razenburger auditioned for the role of Norm, realised that he didn't make the cut.He then asked the producers if they had a know it all smart ass for the bar. They said no, and the he launched into his cliff Calvin persona. They liked it so much they created the character for John.
