@@MatthiasWinkler ok thanks, I was wondering if it was a 311 or the 1511/1611 series. Found your channel looking for info on the 302 and 311 models (the telecaster shaped ones)

Fantastic interview, I was lucky enough in my life to have Tommy as an Music/English teacher in secondary school and he gave me a life long love of jazz, a huge thanks Tommy, ahem Mr Halferty! (it's John Wadham by the way, not "Watson" as you've titled it!)

Really cool and really controlled. Playing in odd meters can be a challenge , I believe this is in 7/4?, to play freely over without over punctuating an odd meter clave beat. They not only achieve seamless ease of musical flow over a less common time signature but their dynamics and touch throughout their performance of this delightful piece exemplifies their mastery of their instruments and musical knowledge.I am aware of the modulation to 4/4 for the piano solo section .

its just an improvisation so I don't think I will have a tab for this unfortunately. Thanks for listening :)

hey man great playing. what do you think about this amp for a warm jazz tone when using with a hollow body arch top?
@MatthiasWinkler2 жыл бұрын
Hi, to be honest that’s what I’m using it mostly for. Playing jazz with my daquisto archtop I like it. As it’s super practical and I’m getting a good response from it when playing. It doesn’t have the depth of a Politone or some other big amps, but for most trio/quartet gigs (even with loud drummers) it’s totally fine😊

For reading single note lines, start with children's songs or folk songs or Christmas carols. They aren't cool, but they're mostly diatonic. And if you finger single note lines with a CAGED type fingering system like I do, play each one in all five forms up and down the neck. A good thing about sight reading is that you can't be looking at the neck, so it forces you to use your touch sense. When you've done that for a while, start using music you've never heard before so you can't 'cheat' by using your prior knowledge. That's where the Bach book - or any simple classical etude book would be good. The more you read new music, the better you'll read.

Loved it! Catchy melody to start and then you’re off. Terrific rhythm section and tight ensemble work! I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
