Rothbart knew that taking the crown was just not the best option, because most people do not consider that legal and will fight the self-declared king over it. Marriage however, and a declaration from the Nobility would be considered legal and then Rothbart could get everything he wanted. He just needed Odette to agree to it. However... After murdering her father, that was never going to happen. Odette would have preferred to just stay a swan forever than give Rothbart her blessing after that. Even with a near perfect plan, Rothbart shot himself in the foot with his first move.

Very lovecraftian movie i think :l i wish it had less flaws - would be a masterpiece then. First half is good, then it kinda 'falls apart' alas as someone has already mentioned in yt comments :/ I personally find it a lot unbelievable that his guards run around belly-free :/ Whats even the point of having all that sophisticated nano-armour then? Also there is to much problemsolving through mindless violence Also subplot of earth military section is missing, etc. etc. ... Otherwise it would have been a top-notch movie - essily ranking within top 20 or top 30 of all time

The writers should have bought in a third character that had both peter, his father and sylar's abilities; who had a better handle and understanding on his powers but was traveling the country copying others abilities that were good and stealing/stripping powers from those who were bad that were misusing them to harm others, making him an orphan x/ the equalizer/ the beekeeper/the man with no name/ the mentalist type of character that would help Peter petrelli become a fellow badass like him and together face off with the likes of sylar and others like them, If they had taken the time to think creatively like that i'm pretty sure the series would have lasted a lot longer that It did! 💯🔥😁😉👍

Ra probably recognises that the humans of Earth have come along way in technology and science, and would sooner fight than bow to him or see him as a god, like the inhibitants at Apidopose or humans on earth from the past. It was this moment that cemented the war between Ra's race and humanity. One which seeks freedom. Another that seeks utter domination, submissions and unquestuined obiedence.
