Sometimes I feel that Uchiyama's work looks way better than Ebisawa. TBH if Kanno wasn't there, toei should have cancelled there affiliation with Studio Live

This is very underrated, it gives a great breakdown of the choreography and animation corrections

His style looks very reminiscent of Dragon Ball Z at times (Ishikawa/Yamamuro episodes to be specific)

I don’t believe Cell deserves to belong in Hell. Technically he didn’t really committed a sin: Most of Cell kills were him eating. It’s not his fault he was designed to feed on humans, similar to humans feeding on animals. (If a human kills an animal to feed or for fun does he go to Hell? Than Cell doesn’t deserve to be in Hell for feeding) And the times when he didn’t kill to feed, he kill out of self defense (the only person Cell kill that wasn’t self defense or to feed was Truck. If Cell decides to self destruct and kill himself than it’s not his fault other people are caught in the blast 💥 in that cast chiaotzu deserves to be in Hell)

I always thought that the original creator of the series is fully responsible for how the animated series turns out. I figured that’s why when the original creator of “Berserk” and “High School of the Dead” died is the reason why the whole anime series never continued

Such a talented animator loves seeing their progression throughout the show

Thanks to every animator to making our childhood so awesome. Nakatsuru, Yamamuro, Mesunaga, Kanno, Shida, Miyahara, Ide, Shimanuki, Hisada, Masaki Sato these all Animators are legends. Watching there work from the time when I was only 4 years old. DBZ is mah life while watching Anime ❤️

Personally I feel Ebisawa should give his position to Kanno during the Frieza Arc, atleast we have to don't see those bizzare looking episodes from the Frieza Arc Atleast

One question, why did you choose heavy metal music for the background music? It’s not a negative, cuz it actually fits well for some reason
So much amazing information just in the first introduction video! 0___0 mind=blown.

Holy cow man, this looks like an amazingly in-depth series and analysis 0___0. Surprised this hasn't got more views. You should link to it on some well-known animation blogs or something, it deserves more views.

Tbh Ohara and Shida should be promoted to Animation Supervisor after the Frieza Saga bcoz tbh, Uchiyama degraded very badly after the frieza arc. His works in Cell and Buu Arc were awful

Definitely the way this great animator animates is simply sensational, the fluidity and colors and sounds, everything is wonderful.

I'll never understand why Uchiyama wasn't demoted to just an animator after a while. Him and Ebisawa(tho he does improve in Buu) were clearly putting more low quality work than the others. Uchiyama in late GT especially is atrocious

His peak was definitely during DBZ/DBGT. I see he started to use that hideous bouncy looking style during the Precure era, which ironically doesn't look good even on Luffy. I think it probably has to do with his transition to digital animation.
@stephanos6128Ай бұрын
from what I know, Shida doesn't work digitally, and the early digital animation era and in Super he *definitely* worked on paper because he would occassionally post his paper and pencil genga on his Twitter, most anime is still aimmaged on paper actually. post processing and coloring is digital but he does not work in that department (meaning he has no real control over it) but doesn't effect his animation style too juch. His style simply changed over the years, personally I think it was *because* of One Piece it had gotten rubbery becuase he animated a rubbery cartoony character, but the signs are as early as Z. I think amother reason is iirc he's or some other mentioned on Twitter a lot of his later and recent Toei work are usually without strict direction and sometimes without correction. Basically letting his style shine, which can definitely give it a samey feel, iirc and take it with a grain, he's not given storyboards often either with Toei cus he always delivers in their eyes. Now when he DOES have direction ie like in Death Note (yes DEATH NOTE, Kira's laugh specifically was a cut if his i think), and of course Z and DB86, his animation is fine and isn't super shiny or rubbery looking. but again the signs were always there.
