I have a theory on what breaks the cycle and "resets" it and it matches with "the answers to the end are at the beginning" Ok, so we all remember something (most likely Man in Yellow) wanted Sara to kill Ethan at the start? I believe that was what would have "reset" the cycle and wiped the board clean again had she succeeded. First off though, what if the very first lives of Tabitha and Jade (at the time of the sacrificing) not only had a daughter, but also a son they had managed to somehow save and avoid sacrificing? That son could be The Boy in White. I think Victor was supposed to be sacrificed to end his cycle but because all the town was wiped out already (could have even been done by the boy in white to keep Victor as his trump card to besting The man in yellow?), it couldn't happen the way it was supposed to, thus Victor was able to keep what he had seen and learned as new people came into the town. This would also funnily explain why Victor seems to be immune to the monsters? Especially since he spent days underground with them, they can't actually kill him. Things are changing because Victor is still alive and his memory has given them answers they needed. He also guided Tabitha underground.

I personally think the most important part of the interaction between Martin and Boyd was Martin asking Boyd if he had gone through the tree yet. Well as a viewer we saw Boyd go through a Faraway tree so Boyd's character didn't have to elaborate. He just gave an odd look. But he should have elaborated. Martin was not talking faraway tree's... he was talking the real Mccoy, the bottle tree. Which doesn't bring you to the real world but a false real world. Martin also mentioned the creatures that come to the town at night are just the tip of the spear. Low and behold the kimono lady and the man in yellow.

it'd be a cop out if jim wasn't actually k1lled but just a vision of him being k1lled. i think him dying is a catalyst for julie to actually go "storywalking" which would be one of the main complications of getting out of the town, just like tabitha and jade going back again and again to help save their daughter and the rest of the children. i feel like some of the sacrificed people are gonna have to stay sacrificed so that the town will let go of the living people. it's kind of like the other side of the coin where the "vampires" need to prey on the living townspeople, but in this case the sacrificed people also need their spiritual kin to come and "save" them. that's just my take on the finale and what the show has revealed so far. i could be totally wrong and different info would be revealed in season 4, but so far this is my theory. the sacrificed people actually need to let go of their living connections to break the curse, but they also are stuck in the story-loop because they still believe that they are supposed to be saved, and the storywalkers will both help piece this puzzle together and also make it more difficult to solve because they wouldn't want to leave behind their dead. julie will keep trying to save jim, but that's probably exactly what the man in yellow wants her to do. edit: it's like how elgin got trapped by the kimono lady by making him believe that he can save the townspeople by sacrificing fatima's "baby" when the reality is that they just used fatima as the vessel for the smiling man to be resurrected and elgin became the bridge to make the resurrection to come full circle. the town needs to make the people think they are saving each other in order to manipulate them into keeping the town's evil alive. edit 2: from the beginning, sara was being manipulated into "saving the townspeople" by making her k1ll ethan. if that had come to pass, julie probably would have become a storywalker sooner, and that supports my theory about the town needing the storywalkers to bind everyone together forever 🥶 edit 3: okay, i'll try and make this the last edit 😹 the children who were originally sacrificed including tabitha and jade's daughter probably unintentionally / accidentally created a separate curse which allowed for t & j to come back over and over to save them. whenever this couple gets deleted within the town, there's likely a town massacre that happens because without this couple, the vampires are stronger than the children, and the story cycle starts over again, but not completely from scratch. for example, victor survived the last town massacre when christopher and miranda got deleted in-town. i think that this separate curse that made t & j come back again and again happened also because the original evil wasn't perfected when this couple refused to join the child sacrifice cult and as punishment, their daughter was k1lled but because it's wasn't technically a sacrifice by t & j, the ghosts of the children lingered and that's why apart from the "vampires" living forever, there's this whole other curse that the townspeople haven't uncovered yet if my theory has some truth to it. and the reason why t & j keep coming back is because they need to realize their own curse created by the children. i think either the children caused this curse on t & j or the couple themselves created this curse because they vowed to keep coming back to save their daughter. the "vampires" caught on and used this separate curse to their advantage and that's why there are storywalkers who will complicate things and prevent t & j from uncovering their own curse.
